I'm blowing too much money on merch. I'm killing myself to watch every stream and attend all the events. This shit is insane. I always thought I was above all you retards and would never get parasocial. Now my oshi is the only pillar in my life.

I need a blackpill or something, I don't want to be enslaved by this for the rest of my 20s and 30s.
>>
my answer depends on who your oshi is

Bro, seriously, just walk away. Close /vt/, unsub from all this shit and move on. I love antagonising the monkeys on here but you're still human, you have a chance. Go live.

I'm not telling to avoid derailing and any reply otherwise is a falseflagger. Just reply as if we have the same one.
>>
I feel like it's not wrong to descend down into the depths but keep going, don't get stuck like this just because you were like this yesterday
somehow keep looking for things

be the man that your Oshi would like, got to the gym for her, be good at your job for her, make 6 figures for her.
>>
The worst thing is to be like you, to be wholly devoted to the PNG woman in the screen and then she starts to let you down. She disappoints you. Streams less. Puts in less effort as reward for all the time, money, and dedication you offered her.

Things truly are fucked when a man in love with a cartoon gets told "yeah brah sigma grind for your oshi earn 6 figures and be a weird rich incel" instead of being told to seek real companionship.
>>
I don't understand how people get so attached. Is it like a romantic attachment with a real person? Same neurons firing?
>>
>>93825770
things are that fucked my dude, this dude is never getting real companionship. he's already gone. this is best thing for him

Everyone starts thinking it will just be like a normal attitude towards any streamer. Then over the next hundred streams they worm their way into the psych.
Remember that in the past, any man that spent as much time with a woman as a /vt/anon does on streams was very likely to to end up with that woman, so it's naturally inevitable.

The OP or the one replying?

there's a few things you need to change. your oshi would not want you to suffer. which means you need to change your spending habits to something more sustainable. you also need to better budget your time. watching streams should not be exhausting. you can show up to every stream but you do not need to catch every moment. you should be taking care of yourself first, which means doing other things during streams. exercise, eat well, sleep. also think carefully about why she is your oshi and why your life now revolves around your obsession with her. there are things in your life that led you down this path and you need to figure out what those things are. you also need to think about what you want from life and how you will achieve it. think of your oshi as a support for you as you try to achieve your goals, someone who is there for you when you are feeling weak, knowing that she is doing her best and so are you. you've said you don't want to be trapped in a doomloop for a decade, which already means you have hopes and dreams that you've put on hold. figure out what you want and work toward it.

>Ew a parasocial fuck
Get out before this happens, reduce merch spending since the more you buy the deeper you dig yourself in sunkcost fallacy. Try going back to anime, books, games or productive hobbies that involve creation.
Just as vtubers are not obligated or bound to act according to their viewer's expectations as time passes, you too are not obligated to cater to those same expectations that comes from them.

well I never had any goal in my life but having an oshi is giving me a purpose
>>
>>93822677
i miss being this into vtubers back in like 2019/2020
stop spending so much money but also enjoy it while it lasts
>>
>>93832568
How does the phase out happen?
>>
>>93833437
The kayfabe and novelty of it seemed to wore out, not on the viewers side but more of how numerous drama kept happening all around and character breaking leading me to realize it's just a screen and that they're not any different from female twitch streamers when it comes to tricking people.
>>
>>93822677
Let me guess, your oshi is... Iroha
>>
>>93834522
I mean, that should be obvious. The whole point is that it's a fantasy.
>>
>>93822677
Never superchatted.
Never bought membership.
Never bought merch.
Never left a like.
Never left a comment.
Never talked in chat.
Never gave a view by watching in incognito mode.
Never had an oshi.
Simple as.
>>
>>93834522
For me, every time it seems like that's about to happen, I'm just drawn back in. It's hopeless.
>>

You and me both brother, it's too late for us
