apologizing in advance for the incoming walls of cringe>>99190028i always miss the interesting discussions while out touching grass... i knew about vtubers when they started getting their own segment in nico nico chokaigi, but i always skipped it. then i watched some kanae clips on b2 from around when he debuted but never got into streams since i can't into nihongo, and kinda had some peripheral knowledge of nijisanji due to them collabing a lot with utaites. i watched luxiem's debuts but didn't start watching streams until noctyx, whom i only learned about because they were getting shit on hard pre-debut on b2, especially wife. being the spiteful contrarian i am i had to check him out for myself........ i knew he was my oshi from his debut 1.0. i saw king's avatar on his interest list and it was over. i was in denial of how far i was gonna end up sinking into this hobby for a long time, despite watching every minute of every stream during his first week, including when he was on petra's GOI stream until 5AM. i stubbornly refused to buy his merch for the first few months kek.looking back, this was as much a journey for him in learning to let down his walls and allow people to love him (because he is a lovable person despite what he might believe!) as it was an exercise for me in learning how to love someone so much without letting it completely devour my life. i think the boundaries i've drawn myself have allowed me to love him with abandon and sustain it for a very long time, longer than any other hyperfixation i've had... i can talk about him with people around me because he's a positive force in my life that i feel no shame about. i just hope i can repay him even an ounce of the happiness he has given me.
