Is it possible to find high res images of Walter Wick's art? These are the well known childrens books "I Spy" and "Can you see what I see?"
>>7985184I've struggled to find high res images online, maybe they have some copyright protection.
I used to love these as a kid, so comfy
I love this shit.
There must be something about autistic brains that are interested in this sort of thing, the way everything is arranged and the colors are just satisfying to look at.
Waifu2x, photo mode, low noise
I wonder how Stable Diffusion or the others would handle this.
>>7985184maybe AI could upscale it
>>7985184I see what you mean. I struggle to find his work even at the resolutions you've posted. I suspect that he has been very careful about allowing his work onto the Internet in anything like high resolution. Or, even "better than medium" resolution.>picrelFor example, I found this one embedded in a Wired article about him. While it's decent in total pixels, the quality has been gimped. Even the filename specifically says "lowerqual" in it. When You open it, it looks reasonably good, has an 82% JPEG compression, which is respectable but not great or pro. However, you can immediately see the image is rotted with upscale artifacts and just blows all sorts of detail with "approximated worms" wiping out all crispness and lines. Looks like someone wiped grease all over the lens and shifted the colors under artificial light. It looks "good enough" for someone looking at it on a 6" or 8" phone screen, but put it up on a decent 2560x1440 graphics monitor and it just makes your eyeballs scream in pain.>>7991870No. Upscales are cancer and destroying available image quality on the entire Internet. Every fucking zoomer retard is "upscaling" shit all over the place and poisoning search results so original images don't even show up in search results anymore. Just rotted out, cancerous sewage.>>7991291>Stable DiffusionIs part of the cancer. It's shit.
>>7991946Compare to the near-perfect crispness of this photo at original image quality. JPEG compression at 93% helps a fair bit, but there has been no upscaling. Probably hasn't been more than cropped to the dimensions he wanted to post it to his blog.If you can't spot it immediately, use your browser to view the image at 200% and it should become very obvious.
>>7987950it reminds me of simple times, being a child. not a care for the world.
>>7991946Would scanning the books help?

These I spy wallpapers unlocked a hidden memory in my brain
>>7995702That is by far the best one.
>>8012107where are you finding these ? all the archived versions on internet archive have terrible PDF compression
>>8012270I use Google/Bing/TinEye to search for pictures and identify the best copies, plus various URL tricks to obtain the largest possible resolution. (If you see qualifiers like "-scaled" or "-640x480" or "?w=1024" in a .jpg URL, you can often strip them out and get the original source image.)

>>8008949Autism is not real, retard, it is a "condition" engineered by normalfags to tell themselves that they are superior; the reality is that autists are the Supreme Race. Keep on coping, chud.
Does anyone more have images from "I spy: Fantasy"? That's' my favorite one

Walter Wick"Flatland from Can You See What I See?: Hidden Wonders"2021
Seeing this image makes me feel warm inside. I would legitimately get prints made of some of these and hang them in my house just so I could be reminded of my adolescence when I walked past.
>Train to the Stars was a final project for my Material & Texture Creation course back in Fall 2019. I was inspired by the photographs found in the "I Spy" and "Can You See What I See?" books that were like dioramas or play sets, which had a sort of nostalgic and whimsical atmosphere to them.>Software Used: Maya, Photoshop, and Redshift
Anyone have the space base made of kitchen items?
Can't imagine spending thousands of hours and using that considerable talent to make those chaotic, brightly-coloured, headache-inducing paintings.artists are gonna be artists, I guess
>>7985184man i love these, these are the definition of 90s art!pdfs of the ispy books must have high res images right, we could extract from them
>>7995702Same
>>8042810This was my favorite to look at. Seeing all the roads twisting with cars every which way was so cool. >>7985185 was also very cool.
>>8053918>Can't imagine spending thousands of hours and using that considerable talent to make those chaotic, brightly-coloured, headache-inducing paintings. It's cool that you're so dazzled by his command of composition, lighting, and optical illusion that you think these are paintings, but Walter Wick is a photographer. Here you can see him setting up some shots: >>8025063 >>7991948They just seem too magical to be real, is all.

>>8042810This was one of my favorites as a kid. It's got such a cozy look to it, especially with the miniature people sprinkled throughout. It's busy, yet sleepy and dreamlike. It reminds me sleeping with a night light as a kid.

>>7995702I had the PC game I bought from the scholastic book fair. I used to play it with my mom and my little brother. My grandma on the other hand would collect I Spy books and that was a highlight of Grandma's house too.
>>7985184Bump
>>7990173Holy nostalgia, that clown just triggered so many hidden away memories. There were some fun CD-ROMs of these games back then, I should rev them up one day
