Really like & appreciate the photos in this thread so far, but the "art" versions just seems anemic and childish by comparison. Nice pix, folks, especially enjoy unusual perspectives like >>8028354 & >>8028355; I've seen some cool auroras from planets like Saturn and Neptune, just never good quality for papes. Anyone got any of those? Even 1080 would be nice, but it'd be fun if there's stuff in higher res than that.

>>8054946>>8054948>>8054951>>8054952Damn cool. Thank you! I knew there had to be some out there. Pretty sure I saw this >>8054952 one before, but much lower res. The Jupiter ones are amazing. I think about ten Earth's could fit across the diameter of this >>8054946 aurora, if I remember the scale about right.

>>8028297You can barely see colors in these things in person. For whatever reason, the color barely shows up except in photos.
For those of you in Østfold / Viken Norway they're out right now. Difficult to see, take a picture to see them better!Kos dere!
I made an album of folk songs recently. used this as the cover photo. it was a pic posted to /p/ a few months back. thank you for sharing that moment, anon.distrokid.com/hyperfollow/brantgoodman/broadwing
I know the thread title says borealis, but I think there's no harm in posting the phenomenon as seen in the southern hemisphere.
>>8085925Good call Anon. I think most people don't typically relate aurora to the southern hemisphere, but you're quite right, images of 'aurora australis' or 'the southern lights' should be posted here if folks have good examples.
