>>5675144This happened in a place called "The Compound" seemingly. I was considering organizing something there, sparing the details. The high power lines and road conditions are something of a giveaway, though I could be wrong. The Compound is an abandoned housing development, they only paved the roads before the builder went bankrupt. It has been home (illegally) to a lot of powersports, including dirt bike racing, ATV racing, drift racing, autocross, quarter, half and whole mile drag, some autocross (though this is rare), offroading, paramotor racing and aerobatic competitions (though this only happens between 2-3 aircraft and occurs maybe once-twice/year, I can give registrations for this one, but I do not want guys to be in deep shit with the FAA, just in case no NOTAMs were filed).Just about everything happens in the compound even beyond racing. That said, there are some police that occasionally patrol the area. They use Dodge Chargers, Durangoes and Nissan Altimas/Sentras in plain clothes. My last operation was uncovered and there was a major police operation that covered three of the four routes we used/alternated (the other used the interstate, thus the local police deferred enforce to Highway Patrol/State Troopers), but if I was going to start doing something again, it would be more structured and it would be in The Compound.
>>5676803Depends, I know the local girls (assuming this *is* The Compound). They fall into three categories:>They only care about Social Justice et al. (I do not care how cute these girls might look, they are not dating material, but they do look for guys who come across as quiet, shy even, but they also want somebody who makes a lot of money and is athletic).>They will make you their laborer. (They start off as nice, but a fast relationship will show their true nature, again they look for shy guys, but they care not about fitness, because they become fit from all of their work, or so they think.) My first girlfriend fell into this category. Truth be told, I was kind of dating her for the family's '62 (or '63) Park Avenue. She had no interest in cars outside of the Park Ave. and Camaros (excluding Aplha and Zeta based Camaros), Corvettes and Mustangs (though she hates Fox bodies and SN95s). (I will put it to you this way, I almost dumped her when she said "Gross" when I pointed out a Marauder).>They dig this kind of shit (cars, planes, boats, racing in general, some even like vidya). These are the ones to date, but the requirement is that you have to be cool. She is probably the third type. So, she is a keeper (and probably wet too).

>>5687494>though just tightening by hand is enoughHave you tried this yourself? If not please do and post results. For all the ones here with more than 2 brain cells, wheel bolts are supposed to be tightened to torque. Usually it's around 100Nm, but it varies from car to car. Because you need to reach a specific torque, you need to use the torque wrench. Your hand isn't an accurate torque measurement device, nor would you ever reach the target value anyways.

>>5716563I have -- I was just going by the main stages, not the abridged versions.I do believe BS2 music edges out over BS1, a tiny bit.I blame Pride by Dave.
>>5716755It's a weird comparison since BS1 is dominated by that 90s/early 2000s eurobeat that sounds really classic in a way, while BS2 has that late 2000s sheen and it has a ton of tracks that kick ass or do something different.Like the back-to-back of Live for You and Futureland alone is better than pretty much the entire race it's repping in 4th stage.
>>5716792>Live for You and Futureland alone is better than pretty much the entire race it's repping in 4th stageTrue, but I think Chemical Love would be just as good as those two songs, if it were played longer than it did, when God Hand overtook Takumi.

>>5692683well first of all you have to get a plane ticket to germany cause thats the nordschleife
>>5670816pretty sure that's a closed course like gunsai. Anyway, tracks are gay because they are totally artificial. Roads have to conform more to the contours of the land so there is more variation, elevation change, and random shit.
>>5674385>ok but i just can't afford itfigure out how to afford it and then get into cars. It's a lot easier to make $100k than it is to make a $2k shitbox reliable and fast. In the time it takes you to figure out everything to build that $2k car correctly, you're going to spend tens of thousands on parts and thousands of hours of time, when instead you could just be earning money and buy something that's already fast and reliable and well-built.If you want to wrench, go ahead. If you want to drive, learn how to make money and then practice driving. Learning how to wrench so you can save money is dumb.

>>5672321>>5672327Also the bump from the curb helps lines the car up to the corner exit, reducing turn angle and increasing the amount of time you can remain on throttle. (more grip to the outside + acceleration+lsd or other = tank tread style turning) You can actually see the cars rotate in and out of grip in the webm, its a similar concept to four wheel drifting in 4wd or go cart racing.
>>5676302does the suspension survive this? I would hope the wish bone would lift it apriori the wheel and then the pavement hits the tire but idk.
>>5668015Neato and thank you.
>>5728941Its a passion, and learning how to make things fast can also be so, it is arguable that they would get twice the enjoyment from the same money. Its all dependent on where you stand regarding working on cars obviously.
>>5726424Apparently you used to be able to buy used track tires according to a fella I was talking to who was stationed in Japan back in the mid 00s and did a lot of highway racing, and you can still obviously buy used road car tires. These dudes were using whatever they found and fucking around with lightly tuned cars some even stock cars.Think of it like how you go to car meets today and you can find some dude flexing his hellcat/mustang/camaro that his dad bought him and he can squeeze out a bunch of power with just a few mods. And you can find some dude with a shitbox car that he just has fun throwing around corners or doing hoodlum shit making ends met with chinese suspension parts. It's the same thing, but Japan had a ton of cheap cars from the sheer volume they were pumping out and they a bunch of them were RWD turbo'd so everybody was on a similar playing field I guess. Also, another thing you have to remember was that tuner culture was blowing up like crazy, even entry level parts were all of very good quality as well there wasn't any china-shit at the time I dont believe. The timing was perfect combined with the terrain of Japan.
