Pic related.Many of these localized OPs are ingrained in the minds of the children of that time.DBZ, Sakura Card Captors, Yu Yu Hakusho, Saint Seiya, InuYasha, El Hazard, Pokemon, Digimon and many others...Unfortunately, it's something that was lost to time. But the ones we got are still very cherised.Whenever there's an anime convention, we oldheads group up to the karaoke section and sing these OPs until our voices are cracking and the tears start flowing.I met my wife in one such convention.The thing that brought us together has since moved away from us. Anime just isn't the same.Besides one show every three or so years, everything else feels like it wasn't made for artistical purposes or the need to tell a compelling story and much for otaku from otaku.
The amount of modern J-rock (repetitive chord progression as per Marty Friedman?) in this thread, makes me glad I stopped watching anime a long time ago.
