Thank you Moose!
Why do you enjoy tokusatsu? I'm asking sincerely.
>>5713702Fight choreography, visuals, and music. I also enjoy the designs of their suits, cool shit.

>>5713802You know the monster is screwed when Kamen Rider does the walk fighting
>>5711558Amazing, thank you! Honestly this series had tons of dope moments
>>5714226Even if the meta-narrative about the hero being a lazy bum and is ruining everything, and how Toei was pointing out the shit they had to deal with, and how everyone really just wanted everyone to get along for the children, the 2 Hibiki episodes of Decade were fucking hype.

>>5713702>Great fights with good choreography for the most part.>Tons of varied parts of Japan depending of the season so you get a nice tour of certain areas.>Practical effects are wonderful and the farther back you go the better it gets even though they still have fairly good practical stuff now. Ultraman being the magnum opus for practical effects for me specifically.>When they want to be funny they typically hit well.>Great characters and usually a solid story with some exceptions here and there.>Many seasons are just great shows all around and worth every minute, even the filler.>Fantastic OPs and EDs and usually a very good OST in general.>Toys are fun to collect (In moderation).>Hot villain women and heroes.>Tons of variety in concepts.>>5713802>by posting the webm version of this scene.I never made one but I'm here to save you a week later if it's any consolation.
>>5718866 What would you recommend to get me into tokusatsu?
>>5718899For Sentai:Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (Subbed Over-Time) is always solid.Gosei Sentai Dairanger (Subbed by HON & H-S) is a great martial arts one.Mirai Sentai Timeranger (Like 60% of it is subbed by O-SHT and Over-Time, and then the rest is either TV-Nihon or the official Shout release) is recommended by a lot of people but I haven't seen it yet.Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger (Subbed by Over-Time) is another I haven't seen but everyone recommends. If you just want a basic overview of what Sentai is then Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger (GSF), Animal Sentai Zyuohger (Over-Time) and the currently airing Cranked-Up Sentai Boonboomger (Over-Time) are all ways to easily understand the general tropes and structure of the series and Tokusatsu in general. For Rider:Kamen Rider Kuuga (Subbed by MCS and ThumbsUp, alternatively the Shout release) is fairly slow for a Rider show but very solid. If you watch it don't use Grongi subs for your first viewing as that's not intended at all. You're not supposed to understand what they're saying and they spoil reveals sometimes 20 episodes before they happen.Kamen Rider Kabuto (Subbed by YoY-Earthly) and what that webm is from is solid.Kamen Rider Den-O (Subbed by EarthlySubs via OZC-Live) if you want a solid comedy series.Kamen Riders W (Over-Time), OOO (O-T), and Fourze (O-T) are the trifecta ending in the Megamax movie that's extremely solid to get into, but you might find the T-Rex Dopant in the first episode of W offputting as it did that to a friend of mine. If you can look past that it's some of Rider's best.Kamen Rider Drive (Over-Time) is another extremely solid show, especially for an intro.Kamen Rider Build (Over-Time) is the same deal. For Ultraman:I've currently only watched Ultra Q, Ultraman, and bits of Ultraseven but I'd absolutely recommend Ultraman and what I've seen of Ultraseven if you want an intro to it. Ultra Q is just Japanese Twilight Zone essentially. MillCreek's official releases are your best bet.
>>5718899>>5719207I also ran out of room. In general you want to avoid any TV-Nihon releases as they sub the shows poorly, but if it's literally the only release that's all you got. Over-Time, IzuSubs, Earthly, FlameSubs, Excite, and EiGo are the current ones who are all solid. GaoSoulFever and Grown Ups In Spandex (GUIS) did some older shows and you have the occasional group that does one release and nothing else pop up from time to time like ThumbsUp for Kuuga.Shout does official subs for Sentai and Rider but they're not always as good as the fansubs or they're literally just the fansubs licensed out (Zero-One is an example and even has the same minor mistakes here and there). If you can afford it and do end up liking the shows please support them like that since it's all we really got.Millcreek does official subs for Ultraman and from what I remember they're better than the majority of what was available for years prior to their releases. They're always floating around $20 even for the steelbooks if you want to buy them, otherwise there's rips everywhere because, again, they're the best versions of the subs anyway. If you want some standalone stuff with little commitment there's always the Toto side with Godzilla, Mothra, Gamera. There's the official Japanese Spider-Man (Resubbed by BernSubs) if you want a standalone series that inspired the mechs in Super Sentai. You also have Metal Hero and the Tomica series if you want standalone Tokusatsu show seasons with their own flare and style. Tomica is TV-N only, Metal Hero stuff has been subbed by individual groups for the most part.
>>5718899>>5719211and of course, I forgot to mention but Tubi has all the official subs if you want to dabble with little commitment:https://tubitv.com/search/Super%20Sentaihttps://tubitv.com/search/Kamen%20Riderhttps://tubitv.com/search/UltramanShout has a Twitch channel that streams their official subs 24/7 if you want even less commitment since you can jump in. They typically do full season broadcasts of a series.https://www.twitch.tv/tokushoutsuIf you have a smart TV they also have an official channel on PlutoTV (Channel 515) that does the same thing.
>>5718866Man, they really abused the shit out of the Kabuto suits with water. Still can't believe they fukken threw Drake into a river.
Moose! Please make a WebM from the new live action Wingman. It's around 22:04--the transformation.
>>5720320You'll find a soundless one in >>>/m/22885089.
Requesting a webm with audio of Agito episode 7 (towards the end of the episode) when Shouichi gets thrown down through one of those amusement park stands, that shit is somehow violently funny to me.

Did anybody ever make a Boonboomger upgrade webm?

>>5735441I knew Kagami was going to become a rider eventually because there was no way a character like him wasn't going to, but damn.So far Kabuto has been just okay. Entertaining enough, but I'm not super invested at the moment. I watch an episode every few days and that's it, it hasn't got me really hooked.
