Freshly "remastered", I'm still confused about it and if it's finally the real thing, because it's nowhere to be found online and Konami is cash grabbing on the soundtrack like crazy with some bullshit.
I like that version.

>>5753823Nice one, it really feels mid-late 90s
>>5756767I know dubstep is a cringe genre but this feels nostalgic and I unironically love it.Also Syndicate 2012 is underrated and needs to be re-released on Steam/GOG despite bearing the name of a much better game.
>>5756940Syndicate 2012 was really good, shame it was as short as it was. The good part was behind coop as you wouldn't have to slog through tutorials or cutscenes and you could actually use everything, but jumping into it once it was near-dead wasn't great.

Hey nerds. Got another obscure banger. Finally had time to *try* to throw one of these together again. Arch Linux has been irritible lately. This box art and stage 1 theme sold this game by themselves. Would you believe me if I said the game is really dull, in stark contrast to the phenomenal box and music design? As is usual with my posts, this comes straight from the hardware. No janky Genesis YM-2612 emulation or Zophar's crackly MP3s here. The composer for this game was a big-budget guy back in '91 or whenever. I'm gonna look him up while waiting for the post timer... Matt Furniss. Up there with guys like David Wise and Rob Hubbard around that time. To quote my favorite grass selling squatter, "Noice stahff, eh?"Please save these if you like them. Making them is a bitch with the combined efforts of cable spaghetti nightmares+broken Arch installation. I do this for you guys. And if no one has said this to you today: you matter. You make a difference. You can do it. And I believe in you. Peace out.
Wow, this one practically made itself. For some reason, having Audacity in fullscreen while recording causes intermittent speedups and slowdowns in the finished recording. Thanks, Icefraud. This game is fucking incredible. It's an occult-sadism combat-pinballer. Imagine you have a really big pinball table that has enemies walking around the field along with the normal pinball stuff, and you actually have to fight the enemies with the pinball, and the gameplay is progressive, which is to say, the table evolves slightly over time. The graphics are insane, the music is beyond insane, like, you'd literally need Dragonforce if you wanted someone to perform this music live. 11/10 game, emulate it right away because you deserve this experience in your life. You'll notice the Tengen logo, which would lead you to think this game is an Atari creation. Nope. It originally debuted on the PCEngine/TurboGrafx16 under the name "Devil's Crush," but when being marketed on a console that actually sold more than 12 units in the USA, the game was ported to the Genesis by Atari's Tengen subdivision, and the satanic imagery was toned down. You know how it was, how 1990s soccer moms thought anything with a power plug on the end could manifest the devil within their little Timmy's mind. The gameplay is identical, and really damn good. There's only one table, but that table is so mechanically complex, that it's all you need. There are also bosses. In a pinball game.Oh, I got way off track there, yeah, not a Tengen product, but one of Naxat and Red corporations for the PCE/TG16. If you ever wanted to try some TurboGrafx gaming, this is IMO the best game on the platform, although the Genesis' heavily-redrawn box art to curb the satanic-panic-factor wouldn't turn any heads."For life is eternal. Love is immortal. Death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing but the limit of our Earthly sight."-William Penn
Ah, screw it, one more for today. I hope I'm not pissing anyone off by overactively posting or something. (Who am I kidding, we're all pissed off here sometimes!)Another from my favorite Mega Drive shmup. I won't harp on about it because I did that a few threads ago. I'll just restate that this game is really beautiful. It's a shmup with soul. Top marks. Emulate or flash-cart it, because the physical cartridge is horrendously expensive.Recorded from real hardware like all of my posts, except via flash-cart this time. Indistinguishable, really, just that little bit less impressive. But that little bit isn't worth the crown jewels of Algeria.Remember to take a few deep breaths and take a few sips of cold water tonight. If you can say you have done nothing else today, then you can now say you took a little time to care for yourself. Hang in there, nerds. Take solace knowing some random bum out there on this pale blue dot cares about you and your shit.
>>5761657I think you fucked the audio.hard.
Gonna type less rather than more this time. This game is great. Think weeaboo + MegaMan. Lots of story cutscenes, really impressive for the Famicom. If you're sensitive to higher frequencies and you're wearing headphones, beware. I lowered the peak amp by -6dB but it's still a little shrill. Sounds great though. Hyperbolically Japanese. Never hear anyone talk about this gem. The English title would translate to "Samurai Pizza Cats." Look for "Cat Ninden Teyandee" or "Kyattou Ninden Teyandee" if you're going to sail the seas for it.Goodbye then, and be safe. And don't you dare go hollow.
