To recap our Summer performance: /wsg/ entered the group stage and faced off against /jp/ and was able to get a 3-3 draw to start. Next up was /t/, and /wsg/ unleashed the anchor as a counter to the boarding party to increase the 3-2 lead to a 6-2 victory alongside a Ricardo Milos hat trick. Finally, with a draw confirming the top-of-the-group, Ricardo Milos scored his second hat trick to steer /wsg/ to a comfortable 4-4 draw.

/wsg/ then entered the knockouts to face /aco/, and despite a third Ricardo Milos hat trick, /wsg/ almost let it slip at 90+. In extra time, Gondola was able to ice the game in the dying minutes to secure a 4-3 victory and a final day position. Next up in the quarterfinals was /sp/ who just just promoted as babby finalists with TSUUUUUU setting the goalscoring record. With 4 different players scoring goals, /wsg/ was able to put them away in a 4-2 victory. /wsg/ then climbed to the semifinals to face off with a resurgent /trv/, and clawed out a 3-2 victory in a back-and-forth match that made sparks fly. /wsg/ beat out their previously set best-ever finish at 3rd place in the elites, and entered the finals against /u/. Despite falling behind 2-1 with a subbed keeper and only a couple minutes left, Obligatory 9/11 Thread was the hero who stripped Consensual Cuddling of the ball and scored to send it to extra time. Once in extra time, the former captain and retired gold medal Duane carried the team once again, and /wsg/ won the final with a 4-3 victory following his goal and assist. /wsg/ had finally achieved their long-desired goal of being champions, and kept the 3-star race alive in the process.

For his offensive accomplishments at 13 goals and 5 Man of the Match awards, Ricardo Milos was the recipient of the Golden Boot award and the Most Valuable Player award. For his defensive prowess in the knockouts, Lamp Oil, Rope, Bombs? earned himself the Lionel Messi Memoriam Award (Player of the Tournament), and was the first nonmedal outfielder to do so. With a 3rd place finish in Winter '24 and a 1st place finish in Summer '24, /wsg/ goes down as having the single best individual calendar year any team has ever had and enters 2025 at #1 in the 4CC power rankings.

My opinions on the current roster:
To Be Continued - Despite being an outdated meme, TBC stepped up to fill the empty GK position. TBC is the first player on the team to play in the outfield and in the net.
WTF Is This Real? - A dancing cat, how? Keep, silver candidate imo.
Man-Made Horrors Beyond Your Comprehension - Basically a blanket rep for any War/Creepy/Uncanny, the current uncanny Mr. Incredible model for this player sure is... incredible. Keep.
Sensible Chuckle - The classic gif used all across 4chan to display mild enjoyment and appreciation of other anons posts, another claim we've staked and maintained for almost as long as the team has been a thing. Keep.
MULTI-TRACK LISTENING - Not really much to say about this player but I believe it's one of the only original memes of /wsg/ on the team, which is probably why you guys vote it so high, also who doesn't like eurobeat? Promote to silver.
Duane - After his silver medal tenure surpassed his gold tenure, he would lose his medal position altogether, personally I think Duane should stay out of the limelight and let other more interesting memes be the stars of the team.
Did He Died? - To this day it's still a classic reply to ANY rekt image be it a puppy falling over or actual fucking gore, this is prime 4chan real estate that we've reclaimed and I hope we can keep it that way. Promote to silver.
Chinese Steel Worker - Somehow survives the worksite only to be killed by a rogue truck tire while on break. Keep as silver.
You Should Kill Yourself… Now! - If LTG's momentum continues he may ascend to gold medal status, I MEAN THAT WITH 100%, WITH 1000%!
Gondola - /int/ has finally allowed us to share him within concurrent cups since we gave our Gondola a comfy pom-pom hat and scarf, keep as some sort of medal, currently a gold.
