Now that the movement is seemingly eating itself alive post some of the funnies ones you have.
I admit, for some of these, I'm not quite sure to this day, if they are parody or not

This one's always great, because it takes me a solid second to realize he isn't speaking German

This one's probably the most baffling.
When I saved it originally, I genuinely thought it was a joke.
But I've seen it posted by actual flat earthers so often that I'm not entirely sure anymore

Damn
How can globeheads ever recover?
>>
It always amused me how many grown adult men willingly waste their time arguing about the earth's shape online

Some of those flat earther debates are the funniest shit though

It's kinda sad when you think about it too long. Most people who believe in flat earth, arrived at it in some sort of messed up state and it ended up being the thing that gives them stability.
There's an essay's worth of analysis to write about this but I'll leave it at that.
And as for the people who argue with them (the on who do it seriously, not just messing them on spearfishing forum) do it in a a bid to fight misinformation and science illiteracy. Probably warding people from getting into the flat earth cult more than actually getting people out of there.

The thing is, flat earth is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to conspiracy theories. You need no knowledge of anything to get into it and practically everyone has to be in on it if it's true (meaning that of course literally every other conspiracy is also true).
So if you're gullible enough to fall for flat earth, you'll fall for literally anything else.

and there's utterly no point in hiding it either if it was flat. Round Earth doesn't go against the Bible.
We had already found out it was round over a thousand years before the Galileo incident, and that was over geocentrism not the shape of the planet.
I can't think of any other reasoning they have, maybe to keep the populace in fear? There's plenty else out there to scare people with, there's simply no point.

Yeah the whole religion thing is what makes the least sense to me. If the assumption is that all the laws of physics and the history of the universe we are taught (in order to have the globe earth make sense) are fake, what grantees that the "real" laws of physics wouldn't allow for a naturalistic explanation for the flat earth and whatever the equivalent of the cosmos would be? That's just kicking the can down the road.
The explanation that makes the most sense is the whole thing about there being other continents beyond the ice wall (possibly with other civilizations out there) that would solve all our problems, because there wouldn't be any more resource scarcity if we had access to those or whatever. I guess if you have an infantile view of how the world works that story does make sense.
Gotta say, that would make for a great setting for a work of fiction though.

>do it in a a bid to fight misinformation and science illiteracy.
Thats the thing I don't really get though
The flat earth crap only appeals to the bottom of the barrel in terms of human population

Everyone who's a normie or above knows its bullshit and doesn't want to be associated with it

No amount of arguing is going to convince flat earthers they're wrong
The science community isn't losing anything by letting these tards make youtube videos
