I'm looking for a squirrel baffle for a square wooden pole, but I'm unsure what one to get. The problem I'm having is that I'm not sure any of the near identical listings from Chinese sellers or whatever on Amazon are even suitable for such a pole as they all show thin round metal poles when the wooden pole I have is about 1 1/2" to 2" wide on all sides.

Any thoughts or recommendations from any of you?

wrap a metal sheet from home depot on the pole

I hung my bird feeder from fishing line, squirrel ended up smashing into the feeder at-least three times before limping away.

Without doing major engineering analysis I'd say the design in your pic is not going to work for two reasons.

It's absolutely too big, the pics I found say it's only good up to 1.75" The diagonal of a 1.5" square pole is still over 2".

Even were your pole a little smaller, these things are designed to bounce around round poles. It'd probably have to be around 1" square to allow similar movement as on a round pole..

I figured as much. I like

This guy's plan, but I can't get my mother on board with it as she's convinced that the metal sheet will snap if you try to force it around a 2" square post.

Anyone got a short video of someone bending thin sheet metal so I can convince her that this stuff isn't as brittle as she appears to think it is?

Since it was irrelevant to the request, and the request itself was sufficiently answered: sage would've been fair.
