how do i nuke all the telemetry and forced updating shit, and windows giving itself permission to do crap I told it not to already?

Run the freeware program "O&O Shut Up!"

It gives a list of unwanted shit and you can pick which ones to disable. Installing updates re-enables some things again, so you have to run the program every month (assuming you run windows update each Patch Tuesday)

I'm using Win10 LTSC though

Which distro do you recommend? I'm not OP, but I'm contemplating a new PC build and I'm currently stuck on OS options. I have plenty of suggestions for hardware, I'm just stuck on the OS.

Unlike OP, I'm still on Windows 7. I already knew 8 and 10 sucked, and I'm hearing a lot of bad shit about 11.

I have a question about upgrading from Windows 10 to 11. If I used the HWID method of activating my Windows 10 will my key still be valid while using Windows 11? Or am I going to be dealing with watermarks?

To be precise, I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise iot LTSC. You still need something like OOSU or similar to get rid of the last bit of cancer.
