I have this weird issue with my pc going on and I can't figure out what it is. Here's the deal:>pc works fine>connect USB storage device of any kind (tested)>pc shits the bed by slowly getting slower and slower when reading files in explorer>files will default to standard icons instead of previews>opening them works fine but everything turns to icon hell>desktop icons also disappear or change to black blocks>can't change background and after a while I can't even open desktop settings>can't expell USB device since it gives the: "it's busy" error>entire explorer will just become loading hell and become unable to be worked withI've tried:>reboot (this works as long as I don't connect a USB storage device again, will act up within minutes if left)>restart explorer in task manager (doesn't work)>delete icon database so it can rebuild on startup (doesn't work)>other USB devices like controllers work fine and don't affect itCan't find anything about this online. Anyone has an idea what I'm looking at here? Thanks in advance.
this happens when the storage device is too slow, or the usb port itself is too slow (due to dust accumulation - usb 2 - usb controller on the mobo going bad - bad connection to front usb).alternatively, it could be software related. update os or check if your mobo is known for these types of problems.
>>1499615Thanks. I'm suspecting it having to do with the USB. It had issues before like randomly disconnecting. I'll try to clean it and see what happens.
