Is anyone familiar with any Japanese media (anime, manga, TV, film, etc.) that deals with or depicts euthanizing a beloved pet that's suffering/dying?

From what I've read, the Japanese seem to have a sort of aversion to animal euthanasia, and the few series I've seen that deal with pets dying typically just have the owner letting "natural causes" take them, without the pet suffering during the process.

why do you want anime about animal suffering?

I want to see how a foreign culture I admire depicts a difficult but relatable issue/scenario.
Do you think people who watch films and series depicting war like war?

Well, no offense, but you're kinda dumb. Like, to the point where I don't even know how to approach the subject to make you understand, since it should be such common sense.

Why are you focusing on the animal suffering portion of the request when that clearly isn't the point you fucking weirdo?
