Trying to find something that isn't shitty

Every time I've researched this, nothing seems convenient enough (out of the free easily available shit) to actually not mind using.I'd end up just installing any of the gazillion random "mirror your shit to your tv" android app and the hoops I have to jump through already drown out the desire I had to think I wanted to actually cast or something like that.If there is something thing I'm missing, hopefully someone explains it to me here.
There has to be something out there,how long has it been? Like 9 years?
>>1502440If I really casted much, I probably would have figured it out. But since, it's just media file playback, I rely on my tv's which all currently have a smart tv player and drop the file on a portable external ssd and then play it directly from the drive off the tv itself.
