are there any digital alarm clocks that display the letters without being light as shit? I just want to have it being as minimal as possible, close to being like if it was turned off, I cant find that do that.

Cover the display with tinted film.
>>

First off, make sure you don't get one that has blue digits because blue is bright as hell, then do what >>1508266 says.
>>

>>1508290
any place to buy them?
>>
>>1508394
Yes.
>>
>>1508259
How about an alarm clock with an e-ink display?
E-ink doesn't give off any light whatsoever.
>>
>>1508402
where?

>>1508415
cant see that in the dark
>>
>>1508774
>where?
Google tinted film.
Commonly used to tint windows.
>>
>>1508259
red
you want red numbers
>>
>>1508827
still shows some light, besides I prefer green
>>
>>1508832
red doesn't mess with your night vision though, red is the way to go
>>
>>1508841
red makes me a little on edge, green feels more calmer and comfier
>>
>>1508262
..."I got you, babe!" running through my head!
>>
>>1508774
Go to Amazon and search "neutral density gels"
Thin plastic sheets of grey plastic used by pro photographers. Cut with scissors, put over clock.

green is the wavelength our eyes are most sensitive to. Not a good choice if you don't want to be distracted in the dark.
There's a reason why most nightstand clocks are red.
>>
>>1508878
Then why are a lot of them green? There are as many green as there are red alarm clocks

Lots of them are blue too, sometimes I can't read my cable box, it's shit.
>>
>>1508882
Because blue LEDs are still a trend, back from when they were new.
Blue LEDs on EVERYTHING! Looks COOL and HI TECH!1
No matter how impractical that may be. Like indicator lights on handhelds that burn your retina.
>>
>>1508898
>>1508903
Nowadays yes, but since digital clocks began it's always red or green with blue and orange coming a lot later, anyway I will try the tinted film method
>>
>>1508882
Because
>green is the wavelength our eyes are most sensitive to.
Duh. Red is common because it's the easiest/cheapest to produce, and like >>1508903 said, blue was only invented in the 90s so it's "new"
