I dont think the author will continue the story anytime soon for this manga. The latest release was volume 3 in Omnibus format. Features good art, lots of interesting martial arts references, really gory scenes. The plot gets really dark for a manga.

Blade of the Immortal is worth checking out if you like this guys artwork.
