I'm a complete noob when it comes to music production, but I'd like to make original music for a game I'm working on. I want to find a MIDI keyboard for under $50 (burgerland) either from a manufacturer or store or from ebay or something like that, but I don't know what's good and what's crap.My only real requirement is that it be fully compatible with GNU/Linux. Recommendations? Advice? Elitist whining? Let me hear it all.
>>1509254You can get a used M-Audio 49 key MIDI keyboard for under 50 bucks. They're perfectly fine devices.
Unless you want to make live recordings, you really don't need a midi controller at all. If you do wanna do live recordings, you would probably want a 61+ key controller which would run you back way more than $50. Your best bet to get the cheapest stuff possible would be to look on facebook marketplace or go to a thrift store
>>1509263Found exactly what you mentioned, but the shipping cost is $200+, so I think I'll skip out on that lol. I've got a $50 gift card I wanna blow on this, so I don't wanna go a penny over. Found a 32 key version within that price range though.>>1509264Never liked just arranging notes on a graph; it's much easier to use something closer to an actual keyboard.
>>1509254For "50 USD" you are looking at Pawn shops and "used" condition. I typically find AKAI APC Key 25 at pawn shops. I have no clue why you would think you have a wide array of options on a 50 USD budget.
