I am trying to install fabric on linux mint but am running into issues. I do java -jar etc and it opens the installer but is unable to install completely and fails. doing the command in sudo successfully installs everything but then various folders and files in .minecraft are set to root perms and I have to manually go through and undo the changes. How can I install fabric properly without needing to undo the permission changes?

installing modloaders manually is a pain in the ass and it's going to be an even greater pain in the ass when something breaks, get a launcher like Multimc or Prism
