I'm usually comfortable with repairs but I cannot make sense of this behavior at all, it just happened overnight
>pressing the power button does nothing
>when plugging it into an outlet, after 3 seconds the power LED turns on as if the laptop was switched on, which is not supposed to happen
>charging LED stays off
>no fans, no POST, no sign of life
>connecting an external monitor shows no image
>USB ports get power as normal
>when the power button is long pressed to hard reset while plugged it, it turns off for 3 seconds, then turns on again
>when unplugged, the power LED used to stay on until you hard reset it, but it no longer even does that, it just dies instantly
So far I've tried
>hard reset
>charging it overnight
>completely discharging the battery, disconnecting it, disconnecting CMOS, leaving it overnight, then turning it on again
>swapping the RAM stick to the other slot
Is it dead?
