>interesting dream last night
>be me, traveling down a highway through a valley with a friend
>large petroglyphs on the rocks
>herd of domesticated buffalo off the road
>cat is with us
>pull over to let the cat get out and get some water
>all the sudden dark storm clouds roll over the tops of the hills
>a single circular area of blue sky still above
>the cat is being the cat, he has now ran through and rolled in the grass, getting covered in burrs and stickers
>put cat in the crate
>go to get drink
>2 other men walk by and approach the crate
>He picks it up and tries to walk off with the cat
>I tell him that’s my cat and start to confront him
>he throws the crate, cat bounces out, but is fine

Hi anons, can anyone help me?

I had a dream last night a rabid rat bit my finger and I couldn't escape it. The wound was infected too.

I'm worried this is a bad omen of I'll health or something. Logically, this dream probably happened because I injured my finger

Used to have a recurring dream from age 10-18
>wake up in my bed to rain hitting the window behind me
>my closet door slowly begins to open
>the Michael Myers face slowly begins to appear in the closet as the ambient light from lightning begins to shine in the room
>always attempt to run to the bedroom door
This is where the dream begins to have alternate endings between him catching me or simply getting out the bedroom
I’m not sure what this dream was trying to convey, I had it almost daily for 10 years and then it just stopped occuring

Is all laughter rooted in negativity or misfortune?
Like eating, must it come at another's expense?

Been kicking this idea around and it seems like its negative foundations go largely unnoticed or unappreciated.

Superiority Theory: Slipping on a banana peel might elicit laughter because it highlights someone else's clumsiness (misfortune)

Incongruity Theory: Laughter occurs when there's a subversion of expectations and reality. A "rug-pull" that requires a foil. Think of a trap via dad-joke as an innocent example. Updog.

Relief Theory: Freud argued laughter is a release of built-up tension or nervous energy. In this case the foil is those denied their superiority via schadenfreude (see theory 1)

Benign Violation Theory: Humor arises when something is wrong (a violation) but also harmless or benign. Tickling is an example here, the tickled being the foil.

Thoughts on this? Does laughter come from a darker place than we like to admit? Are there examples that contradict my theory? Would love to hear some.

If you haven't, you should read Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein.

>“I've found out why people laugh. They laugh because it hurts... because its the only thing that'll make it stop hurting.

>But find me something that makes you laugh, a joke, anything--but something that gave you a belly laugh, not a smile. Then we'll see if there isn't wrongness somewhere and whether you would laugh if the wrongness wasn't there.”

>― Robert A. Heinlein, Stranger in a Strange Land

Laughter is malice with a clear conscience - Nietzsche.

Not because laughter is evil, but because normally we will feel guilty if we catch ourselves having malicious intent. But malice is part of the normal emotional register of humans. A chimpanzee wont feel guilty about the malicious pleasure it derives from defeating its rivals. So our guilt is learned.

but in laughter, we have access to the emotion of malice in a way that feels guilt free.

After all, true laughter is not something that you choose to do. It's something that just happens to you. Therefore the act itself is not owned by you and so you can do it with a clear conscience.

>Is all laughter rooted in negativity or misfortune?
No.
>Been kicking this idea around and it seems like its negative foundations go largely unnoticed or unappreciated.
Heinlein points this out in Stranger in a Strange Land using a scene with monkeys at the zoo.
>Does laughter come from a darker place than we like to admit?
It's a lot more about the surprise and unexpectedness of the misfortune, rather than the bad thing itself, that makes it funny.

I used to think on this as well.
The examples of humor that dont involve others getting hurt would be
>toilet humor - farts are funny
>exaggeration - As Norm Macdonald playing Burt Reynolds said: "It's funny cuz it's bigger than a regular sized hat."
https://youtu.be/bEghu90QJH4?t=271
>coincidence
Think of all the Seinfeld gags where events line up in humorous ways. George having to to play Frogger with a Frogger arcade machine, for example.

Why must we reincarnate? What is there to learn? We can gain experience from an infinite numbers of lives, what's the end goal? What can be learned by evolving and ascending?
Physical life seems to mirror the spiritual "afterworld" in a way. Perhaps it's just like scientology or any other mystery school with its secrets. Once you're at the top you're maybe a bit disappointed. Like, is that it? That's the secret? Or, I don't get it...
Perhaps that's the archon trap. This "soul school" in the afterlife is just a mystery school, a theater, a larp and it's mirrored in the physical world. Is existence just an endless sitcom fueled by our desires and curiosity?

Paper Money is the most diabolical /x/ human creation.
As opposed to gold, which is a natural earth resource, money is paper (dead trees).

As such, it is acquired through death, or life-taking forces.

It enslaves man, forcing man to betrayal oneself and his brothers. It controls man, dictating the life path and choices that steal freedom. It sucks up time and energy. It is given to pedos and corrupt psychopaths. And all while it's protected by the people under it's command through mind tricks.
Debt is a form of slavery. Man is the only animal on earth that pays rent.

No ‘isms’ existed at scale — they are ALL Matrix Spoons, except one.

Money Power Fascism!

“ PAPER, People! You are handed PAPER!! What don't you get?? The paper costs nothing to produce!! And has the taxpayer's blood (read YOU) as backing! SO you provide the guarantee, at gunpoint! Keys to the KINGDOM indeed!
Seriously, how can anyone who VOLUNTARILY participates in this system believe they can grasp higher level concepts?
Have you seen all the gold stores that have popped up across the United States? People are flocking in and not even getting spot price...cheated twice! All voluntary mind you. One would think that precious metals would be the family jewels, so to speak, and be kept for the next generation...but the next generation, by these peoples actions...can go to hell!
Funny. It's even CALLED the LONDON PRICE FIX! FIX???
Get a clue!”

Hot like fresh cow dung. Federal Reserve Notes are literal debt receipts — like mortgage notes and car notes. It is all due back with interest. Gold is an asset that doesn’t accrue interest. Specie of all types is debt-free. 4 quarters is FUNDAMENTALLY different than a $1 FRN. I posted links above that explain it all in minute detail.
>>
>>41737869
Yeah fiat is a debt based system. Thats why if we use fiat we need a complete ban on usury
Conservative boomers have this idea of being safe as an individual by stacking up shiny rocks (gold&silver) in case of societal collapse. This isnt really long term sustainable as a society though.
I wish I had the easy answer, but I dont know where all the damn gold went :(

I just did a quick tarot reading and the cards were very positive. This is a solid future-minded partnership, with a person you have a serious, mutually attracted relationship/bond with. The engagement will also conclude in a satisfactory manner i.e. you can expect her to say yes (I'm sure you were never doubtful in the first place, but just some more confirmation from my end).
All in all, nothing to worry about.

Yes; the books guide you along when you start trying to figure out how they work.
Plenty of direct spiritual guidance from the books themselves.
A good thing to do is "trace the sigils with a pen".
As you're drawing them you start sensing more of how they work.

I'll stick with Hebdomadry, I don't really have a use for all the darque fluff. Stripping things down to the bare essentials can be quite effective and I've found great beauty in working this way.

Have you ever had a friend who vanished from existence, including the past?

I had a best friend in high school I used to talk about all the time. One day I brought him and my family didn't know who I was referring to. I thought they were pulling my leg so I continued and they really didn't know who I was talking about.

I went through my phone to show them pictures and I found pictures of myself but he's not standing next to me. I pulled out the yearbook and his entry isn't there. I went through facebook pages of my school's basketball team because I know he played basketball. He's not there in the team photo.

I feel like I can never prove his existence and if I try I'll be committed to an institution. At this point I'm just going to silently mourn his passing and try to move on.

I had something similar.
When I was a child, we used to go and visit some people in our city more than once as a family.
I think people were friend of my father.

I remember where.
I remember what we played, that Alaaddin game from old consoles.
And many others...

I remember how hard it was for me but how easy for my older friend.
I remember the controllers being cold to touch, I remember every detail.
I remember the desk tv is in.
How he was good to me and my sister.

Fast and forward years later,

Interesting how the focus of /x/ has shifted from stories about investigating/encountering particular paranormal phenomena (monsters, hauntings, ufos, etc) to ideological/political and spiritual topics. Someone smarter than me could write a good piece about how that mirrors the cultural shifts of the last 10 years. Regardless it's gotten objectively worse, not least because nobody on here actually knows anything about politics or religion. Reading about an average guy encountering something mysterious is pretty much always engaging even if the author is kind of stupid.
