It means the external world around you is a reflection of your internal world, aka your emotions, beliefs, conscious, and sub-conscious. If you are overwhelmed internally by negativity you will only see negativity in the external world, same goes for positivity. It also means your internal world is a reflection of the external world around you, this is why seemingly mundane things like cleaning your room can improve your mental state.
