>>37747860Just a few off the top of my head:Stalker (1979) - Tarkovsky's film is steeped in Gnostic symbolism, with the Zone representing the pleroma, a realm of divine knowledge. The Stalker's journey reflects the Gnostic path towards gnosis, or spiritual awakening.Sátántangó (1994) - Tarr's film is a meditation on the nature of evil and the human condition. The character of Irimiás represents the Gnostic demiurge, a false creator god who leads humanity astray. The film's circular structure evokes the cyclical nature of time in Gnostic thought. The Wicker Man (1973) - The film delves into the pagan beliefs of ancient Britain, exploring the idea of sacrifice and the power of nature. The clash between Christianity and paganism reflects the tension between orthodox religion and esoteric spirituality. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - Scorsese's film uses occult symbolism to critique the excess and corruption of capitalism. The character of Jordan Belfort is portrayed as a false prophet or antichrist figure, leading his followers into temptation and sin.The Witch (2015) - The film draws on historical accounts of witchcraft and the occult, exploring the idea of the witch as a symbol of feminine power and transgression. The Puritan setting reflects the repressive nature of orthodox religion and its fear of the occult.Dekalog: One (1989) - Kieślowski's film grapples with the question of God's existence and the limits of human understanding. The tragic death of the child evokes the Gnostic idea of the flawed material world and the suffering it entails.
>>37753559Some more:Embrace of the Serpent (2015) - The film explores the shamanic traditions of the Amazon, including the use of psychedelic plants as a means of spiritual awakening. The clash between indigenous spirituality and Western rationalism reflects the Gnostic idea of the separation between the material and spiritual realms.Eyes Wide Shut (1999) - Kubrick's film delves into the world of secret societies and occult rituals, hinting at the existence of a hidden elite that engages in esoteric practices. The use of masks and the theme of sexual transgression evoke the idea of the "left-hand path" in occult traditions. The Tree of Life (2011) - Malick's film is a meditation on the nature of existence and the problem of evil, drawing on Gnostic ideas about the fallen nature of the material world. The journey of the soul through different stages of life reflects the Gnostic concept of spiritual evolution.Atlantics (2019) - Diop's film blends elements of Senegalese folklore and Islamic mysticism, exploring the idea of possession and the connection between the living and the dead. The use of water as a symbol of transition and transformation reflects the esoteric concept of the "ocean of the soul."The Seventh Seal (1957) - Bergman's film is a meditation on the nature of faith and the inevitability of death. The character of Death represents the Grim Reaper, a common figure in occult symbolism. The film's iconic chess game reflects the idea of life as a spiritual contest between good and evil.Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010) - Weerasethakul's film explores the Buddhist concept of reincarnation and the interconnectedness of all living things. The appearance of ghosts and spirits reflects the animistic beliefs of Thai folklore and the idea of the permeability between the material and spiritual worlds.

The Goetia Diaries. It has everything. Goetia, Tarot, cumming on sigils, hot goth girls, crystal chicks, neckbeards, LHP, enns, money magic"k" and more.
In light of the times, 4 months away from the invasion of earth by the evil ones, I think Hacksaw Ridge is the film every anon should see. Even if they've already seen it. It's about an anon autist, before such people technically existed, who decides he must do his duty in WWII. Initially he his hated and misunderstood by just about everyone. But he never gives up and he works hard. Eventually those people who thought he was a piece of garbage, find out he was the best friend they ever had. If you choose to be mankind's only friend in these trying times to come, the general trajectory of your life will look just like that. Except when they lower you over the ridge at the end, you won't wake up in a hospital. You'll wake up back on earth, to live 1000 years in Christ's new kingdom.

Evil dead is a classic, bruce Campbell made his name with these movies. Its pretty fucked up but nowhere like cannibal holocaust.
>>37747860Not a film, but don't miss that one.My favorite.
>>37752951>the thing was a remake of an older b/w versionNot really. The old b/w version wasn't very faithful to the original material. John Carpenter's The Thing is a much more faithful adaptation of John W. Campbell's short story "Who Goes There?" If you haven't read it, you owe it to yourself, if you like John Carpenter's movie. >>37776499>>37776906Hello, based department?
>>37747860Pic related is very x if you know. It’s kind of easy to figure out the book its based on was itself an imaginative retelling of the story of the Nephilim and the movie is chock full of Masonic references. The tribe they contact in kafiristan is the kalash people which itself hints at the theory that the polytheistic gods of Hinduism and all of Eurasia were inspired by the chariot riding Indo-European conquerors who their subjects believed were gods and who “fell” because they interbred with the “mortals”.
>>37747860Day of the beast is so x it’s insane. It’s about a Catholic priest who goes on a rampage of robbery, kidnapping, and violence with a heavy metal fan and a tv psychic in order to track down and kill the antichrist. The final battle is with a reptilian in between two skyscrapers that kind of eerily resembles the twin towers even though the movie came out in 1995. The guy who made Alex de la iglesia made another film called “the witches of zugarramurdi“ which is about a bank robber running away from his evil ex wife with their son so she can’t turn him into a feminist, only for him to stumble upon a coven of witches who are plotting to destroy western civilization. They’re both Spanish films.

Vampire Hunter D a 1985 animated film is a "dark future science-fiction romance" set in the year 12,090 AD, in a post-nuclear holocaust world where vampires, mutants and demons "slither through a world of darkness"
Waking Life (2001)>An unnamed young man lives an ethereal existence that lacks transitions between everyday events and eventually progresses toward an existential crisis. He observes quietly but later participates actively in philosophical discussions involving other characters — ranging from quirky scholars and artists to everyday restaurant-goers and friends — about such issues as metaphysics, free will, social philosophy, and the meaning of life. Other scenes do not even include the protagonist's presence but rather focus on a random isolated person, a group of people, or a couple engaging in such topics from a disembodied perspective. Along the way, the film also touches upon existentialism, situationist politics, posthumanity, the film theory of André Bazin, and lucid dreaming, and makes references to various celebrated intellectual and literary figures by name.

>>37772494I caught the 1998 Carnival of Souls on tv as a kid with no idea what it was about. Fucked me up for a couple weeks.
>>37755128The real story isn't really totally there.I grew up in the seventh day adventist church and Desmond Doss changed the story over time, nobody wanted to say anything after the 9/11 patriotism surge, but before he died and particularly before 9/11 there were some critics out there that pointed out some impossibilities and story changes.I personally would like to bring this one point up, he brought a lot of that hardship on himself. He joined the army and wanted to be a medic, and he wanted to do it without carrying a weapon. He also wanted to have Saturdays off for religious purposes. Well all of that was already available, just not exactly the way he wanted. He could have been a medic on the front line or in a field hospital, where medics don't carry weapons due to several reasons, but he wanted to be attached to an infantry platoon and not carry a weapon. This is what made him so unpopular. That position could have been filled by somebody who was willing to carry a rifle, and Desmond could have been somewhere medics were already disarmed. Also he could have had Saturdays off with the jews, which would have been just fine and other seventh day adventists before him did just that, but the man didn't like the idea of being lumped in with jews, so he made sure he wouldn't be attached to any jews in training, where his saturday worship was most troublesome. He was able to keep getting his way on trivial things he shouldn't have been making demands on, because there was a massive shortage of medics and there were places to put him where his weird stubborn tantrums wouldn't get in the way.If you want to know more I'm really not sure where to start looking, but like I said earlier pre 9/11 there were a number of critics out there. Also most people didn't really believe he saved all of those lives at hacksaw until the Eastwood movie came out. Before that everyone just treated him like a liar, and I'm talking about both critics and seventh day adventists.
>>37752832That is completely anti-/x/, just because it's le strange doesn't make it /x/. The message of the film and the ending are the opposite of /x/, and the director is a hack. I have no clue why /x/ enjoys this piece of shit (the movie even features a piece of shit, ironic)
