>live in apartment complex
>complex is composed of two towers connected by a hallway
>tower one's lobby is at the main entrance, tower two is connected to the "back door" of the complex
>live in tower one
>often pass through the second tower lobby when using convenient back entrance
>be walking home at night with my takeaway dinner
>flash my keycard, walk through back door, and towards second tower lobby
>can hear a faint voice from around the corner
>round the corner into the lobby and find source of noise

Aside from the elevators, each lobby and each unit has a connected intercom system. A guest can dial the unit number to basically video call the unit, and the resident can click a button to allow access to their floor (since you need a keycard to use the elevator). When access is granted, a sound plays on the intercom which sounds like a female tts voice saying "you can enter".

>the intercom is going crazy, as if the resident on the other end is spamming the access button
>"you can enter you can enter you can enter you can enter"
>no guests in sight, the elevator wasn't even called and are all at random floors
>tts voice suddenly slows down
>"yooouuuuu caaaaannn eeenntttteeerrrr"
>never heard it do that ever in my life
>hear extremely loud raspy breathing from intercom speaker
>breathing is so loud it's as if whoever's on the other end has their face directly pressed against the intercom
>realise they can see me on the other end
>NOPE
>quicken my pace and quickly walk past the intercom
>hear a fucking loud bang, like someone slamming their head into a table, and psychotic laughter
>shit BRICKS
>haul ass into tower one lobby and nearly break my finger spamming the button for the elevator
>mfw dont even know what apartment it was since intercom doesn't display the unit number
>mfw whoever it is knows my face
