Has any one ever gone on a pilgrimage? This is an ancient tradition for many cultures, that traditionally involves walking long distances to get so some sacred or holy site. The time spent during the journey is part of the destination, as you often have long periods of solitude, meet fellow pilgrims from all walks of life, and even some times are forced to rely on generosity of locals for food and shelter. People go on pilgrimages for many different reasons; Transitioning to a new phase of life, dealing with the death of loved one, spending time with god and many more reasons.Going on a pilgrimage often puts you into a hyper focused state, where you are connected to god or the universe, and manifestations and fate are often accelerated compared to normal life. Every time you meet a person on your journey, it becomes part of your experience and its hard to ignore the perception that your path crossed with another's because it was fate that brought you together.I personally did the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in Spain, which is over a month long walking from the border of France and Spain to the Saint James Cathedral in Spain. The same route has been walked for 1000 years, and people come from all over the world to do it. It was an incredible experience for me.There are many pilgrimages across the world, and i would love to do more of them. "Walking is for the body, and Pilgrimage is for the soul"
I plan to visit all of the Lalibela sites, hopefully this decade.
