What are the spiritual implications of doing literally nothing? My gaming PC broke, I have no job, and I can’t stand YouTube or its algorithm anymore. So, lately I’ve just been shutting everything off and sitting in silence. I also quit booze because of the way it makes me act and health problems. Will this start to open me up to the spiritual world at all?

nigga thats just meditation.

Are you seriously asking if meditation has spiritual benefits?
>>
>>39231425
I’m not looking at it as meditation, actively meditating, closing my eyes, or any of that. I’m just doing nothing in place of TV, internet, or gaming. Aside from posting here. I’m just curious if anyone here blocks out most outside influences and if so how it affects you spiritually.

Well then while you're doing nothing, do try to have good posture while doing nothing. All the sages agree
>>
>>39231471
Oh okay, usually I slouch.
>>
>>39231419
Doing nothing for prolonged periods helps clear your karmic burden, but it also precludes you from taking any positive action that may yield spiritual reward. You won't find enlightenment in this state; your mind will start to wither away from the lack of stimulation and you'll either start to become psychotic or too dissociated to engage yourself with spiritual topics. (Trust me, I've been through this)

Start walking. At night, if you must. Things will start happening again. Best to you, anon.

Try stretching, easy to do, don't need anything special, stretching is my preffered alternative to nothing when I feel that way
>>
>>39231419
honestly just think for ONE fricking second before posting. why dont, hear me out... YOU yourself (as in the 'person' that is you) make up your own mind about YOUR incredibly basic spiritual beliefs. crazy right?
>>
Bro is just sitting there for hours staring at the wall like a fucking NPC

that is how he makes it sound isnt it? i dont get what the fuck this guy is talking about "will this start to open me up to the spiritual world at all?" ..... lol how is anybody supposed to answer this question??? lolololol

I loved with a guy with drug induced catatonic schizophrenia. He would literally just lie in bed and stare at his ceiling all day, only getting up to eat a couple slices of white bread with margarine, or check the ashtray for cigarette butts
>>
>>39231490
That’s valuable to know thanks, and I don’t plan on carrying on with it long term. So, in the short term it will probably be beneficial. I was a pretty bad alcoholic and mostly just doom scrolled YouTube all day and occasionally binged vidya, so it’s going to be the polar opposite of my previous lifestyle.
>>

I like the idea of that. I just will probably have to carry with all the feral meth heads wandering around here.

He’s literally me

I would say based, but he chose margarine instead of animal fat.

quitting booze in and of itself probably wont make you more spiritual it could have the opposite effect and you go total narcissist or taken over by greed. AA did not work for me but I think every recovering alcoholic owes it to themselves to at least try it, a fair shake you gotta go more than once or twice. But even if you dont go, meditating will probably nudge you in the right direction.
>>
>>39231419
Introspection often has nice benefits. Long walks are also a good idea in this respect. Nothing spiritual about it, but training your mind may be helpful if you ever find the threshold to the rabbit hole.
>>

I went to AA for a while, but it seemed like a couple of the sponsors were actually narcissists themselves. I didn’t really have the patience for one in particular constantly acting like he was above me, and I just thought it was gay in general so I stopped going. I have enough drive in me to stop entirely although I’m not enjoying it. I just am a horrible person when I black out, and I have no shut off with drinking.

That’s what I was thinking honestly. Maybe I should have worded it better, but I just have noticed some serious improvements shutting off outside stimuli and being off booze. I have felt more interest in the /x/ side of things since my habits have been more pure is all.

>what will happen if I do nothing?
Nothing.

>spiritual implications
None.

Yw

I don't know you, and I don't want to know you.
>>
>>39231419
You start to die.
>>
>>39232112
Yeah I've never been obv so take this with a grain of salt but it definitely sounds like a pretty culty organization.

Still probably worth it for people that are in too deep into alcoholism to just quit on their own but in the longterm they should probably break off at some point and start thinking for themselves.

As opposed to staring at meaningless slop on electronics or spending time around NPCs. Those who are exiting Plato's cave begin to find that this world has nothing to offer them: an indicator that the cycle of birth and death is drawing to a close.

Is someone there?
