i see a lot of "haunted" dolls on ebay and stuff but they seem pretty fake
does haunted stuff actually get sold online? if the haunting was really that bad theyd give it away for free right?

I don't know. However, I do know that you are not allowed to sell haunted items on ebay. ebay's terms of service does not allow you to sell intangible items. The examples they list are A ghost in a jar, someone's soul and spells or haunted items.
This raises some questions about why you are not allowed to sell such items on ebay. They claim that the rule is to ensure that the buyers can confirm receipt of the item they purchased, but I do not believe that to be the whole truth.

I just velcro them to foam Matt's to keep them from sliding around and scrunching up.

There are literally hundreds of listings of "haunted dolls" all over ebay

I don't make the rules nor enforce them, I just know some of 'em. Strange that ebay wouldn't ensure that their tos is followed.

when you buy a ghost in a jar, you're buying a ghost; the jar is packaging. when you're buying a haunted doll, you're buying a doll; the ghost is flavor

I want you to check into reality for a moment, anon.
What matters more to you as a company in this context?

Liability, or profit despite already being incredibly profitable?

Interesting I would rather have the ghost in a jar
>>39254008
I guess to ebay it would be profit, which is part of why I would probably never make it as a businessman.

Yes but the answer is a trick in itself. They care a lot about both, but, a doll being sold to you as 'haunted,' is less of a scam than say buying a 'ghost in a jar.'

So these rules make a lot of sense even if you do not believe in the supernatural.

No, because they would be quite expensive and probably be sold at some obscure occult auction house.
>>
what i don't get is what is stopping people from buying a vintage doll at a thrift store and just saying its haunted and sell it for $300 to make profit.
>>

ebay don't give a fuck about that anymore. i do remember a time when the haunted shit sellers had to put a disclaimer in the description, but they don't even do that now. that was the most retarded rule ebay ever put out. there's more of a chance of some dude buying a vintage clock radio at a thrift store, selling it and having it catch on fire and setting the buyer's house on fire than someone going full schizo and killing themselves over a fake, haunted doll

Gather three pics: two random un-haunted objects and the haunted one you wanna buy. Make sure the seller provides a pic just for you that can't be image searched.

Pay three "psychics" to tell you which pic is of the haunted object. If at least two pick the correct object, it's probably haunted.

Add moar psychics and control pics as needed for better accuracy.

psychics will probably lie lmfao

That's why statistics is psi's best friend.

yes, but they'll very rarely be labeled as haunted.
