You're still making the world your master if you think liberation comes from an act you perform within the world.
The reason souls remain here is because of ignorance within their souls which needs to be removed. Death doesn't remove ignorance. If all humans died off instantly they would just manifest a new similar state of being from their ignorance, because it's all they know.
