Problem Child 2
Sinister is honestly one of my favorite horror movies

The first three seasons of Spongebob are unironically esoteric
>>39267011Wow fail. I guess schlock like One Missed Call and Unfriended also must be /x/ kekPic related, an actual /x/ kino
>>39271668shut the fuck upstop taking so much shrooms
>>39271863Go watch the magic conch episode again and really pay attention to the dialogue
>>39271863You must be thinking of newer Spongebob, that is just mindless garbageThe first three seasons unironically do have some esoteric episode, with some being more subtle than others
>>39271227The parents hate each and are so self-centered that when they divorce they separate their identical twins at birth and never tell them. The twins find out and have so much hate for their respective parents that they pretend to be each other so they can each meet the parent they never knew. They then discover that their father plans to marry a narcissistic whore. This is followed by a series of manipulative acts performed by every member of the family and there servants, and they all decide they love each other. The plot of the movie isn't paranormal itself, but the fact that so many parents felt this was a good movie for their kids to watch raises a lot of red flags. I suppose it's not any worse than classic fairytales. Still pretty fucked up, tho.

Here’s some random /x/ themed movies from my collection.
season 1 episode 14 titled " SB129" there is 100 percent a deeper meaning that i dont think anyone has ever touched on. the early years of Spongebob was pretty gnarly
>>39278270Nice roshi bookmark
>>39278270What makes you prefer VHS to other formats? Why not buy DVDs instead?
>>39271578Astonishingly bad taste
The Poughkeepsie tapes. This .gif made me lose sleep back when I saw it online for the first time back then.
The Spear of Berghain (1977)
>>39281389Vhs holds up over time. if a dvd gets scratched it wont work anymore. The grainy texture feels more authentic for me. CRT televisions are superior, modern newfangled televisions with stupid surround sound features piss me off. Whenever i watch a movie on netflix the audio doesn't work properly, I cant hear during any quiet scene, but then the action scene sounds too high. Commercials from the 80s and 90s are nostalgic, regular commercials piss me off. I refuse to pay for "streaming" services, so I either pirate it or watch one of the shity websites that can stream for free. Paying money for non-physical media pisses me off. My grandparents used to buy and sell yard sell lots during the 90s, and i got free vhs movies since I was a kid, and once every local store in town started getting rid of the vhs tapes, i bot as many as i could. Also, almost any movie made after the year 2010 is basically gay and not even worth watching. Obviously there is some exceptions, but the majority of shit nowadays is uninterested. Also gore / snuff / shock movies just look best in vhs. I think its the bad audio plus grainy saturation that makes if more realistic, compared to some of the isis clip which were almost hyper-real and less believable, even if it was real.
Found this one while looking for Dutch media and was surprised by how /x/ it is. Highly recommend.
>>39282020Why is that, aside from Halloween 6/Texas Chainsaw Next Generation?
>>39284249
>>39267011Wicked will blow /x/fags away who aren't familiar with the decades-long running Broadway show. It's like The Wizard of Oz meets El Topo
The Dark Knight trilogy
I wonder if anyone could recommend me japanese horror movies or books or whatever which have a rural setting, preferably with some Shinto or Buddhist elements. Higurashi no naku koro ni was great (the first season at least), Spiral/Uzumaki (the manga), Noroi, heck even Persona 4 falls into this category a little bit.
>>39267011The Empty Man. Had it on in the background one day and keep looking up and going "What the fuck?" Had to rewatch. The intro alone should've been its own movie
>>39275203Don't care watch people say, this was better than Re animator
>>39271852I like the story and other world. Hated how they hooked up wires of a 50 year old computer and activated the star gate.

>>39267050Never heard of it. Interested. Explain
Angel Heart
>>39292948seems like it's one of the very first found footage films. I wonder if it's based on a real ayy event

>>39295110Genuine classic. One of my favorite movies.
>>39297549Me too man
GhostbustersNot even kidding, Dan aykroyd actually believes in the paranormal and several real life urban legends have made their way into the film.
>>39271668Now if you want to talk esoteric cartoon. American Dad has episodes about Cryptozoology, lost media, astral projection and Seamen retention. Hey Arnold also touches on esoteric topics
>>39285343I'm gonna fuck your ass.
>>39282102This film strangely made me horny. Watched it last night and had to wank twice after it.

>>39295110Is it on the same level as They Live or Repulsion or just all the hype like Fire in the Sky? The ayy lmao scene was good, notwithstanding, but it couldn't carry the deadweight that was the rest of the film
>>39267011i watched fear dot com because of this thread and it sucked.

>>39301989Just watch it lil nigga
>still no mention of Godzilla: Minus One
Any RECENT good found footage ones?>bonus points for spirit/ghost/demons related
>>39293934This shit is one of my favorites
>>39304810Godzilla Minus One was great but t bh when it comes to /x/ shit my preference is the shin godzilla expanded lore:
>Godzilla constantly mutating and evolving into new forms>every individual cell can potentially form into a new Godzilla>random chunks of gore that get blown off start sprouting eyes and teeth & mashing back together>Godzilla eventually undergoes mitosis>ends up just being a massive pile of Godzilla guts that covers the whole Earth>starts forming organic spaceships that look like Godzilla heads>slowly converts all matter in the known universe into Godzilla flesh
My understanding is that Toho made them axe all that because it was too weird, but the implication is still there in the actual movie
>>39308277lol fuck i fucked up
>>39307884I re-watched it recently and it hit just as hard as the first time. If anyone is reading this, DO NOT watch the theatrical version. That version has Kiefer Sutherland narrate the opening sequence and give away the entire movie, they just thought moviegoers in the 90's were too fucking stupid to follow it. It flopped in theatres because with that opening it sucked, but the DVD release with the Director's Cut has the proper movie the way it's meant to be seen. Plus 1990s Jennifer Connelly.
>>39271668>>39279383Can you fucking explain why you think they are /x/ related? Can you even express your thoughts properly?
>>39308879Spongebob is an alien, sponges don't look like that
>>39267011I'm sure nobody has watched this one. It's watchable online on youtube and the internet archive
>>39308773>DO NOT watch the theatrical versionOh damn I never knew that. I have a vhs copy coming in the mail soon, had no idea there was a difference. I'll have to get the damn dvd version now.>Jennifer ConnellyDefinitely. Remember too that she was in Labyrinth, which is also one of my all time favorites. I loved that movie as a kid. I revisited years later after studying Joseph Campbells works, Manly Hall, Jung, ect, and it really clicked. A lot of those oldschool fantasy films really do have a lot of esoteric lore hidden there.
I never browse this board and I randomly remembered this film last night and watched with my gf. then I come here tonight and of all things it's posted. interesting
>>39307857
>>39301444Yeah dat's a spooky one.
>>39308277Minus One takes place in 1947, same years as the Roswell UFO crash, Godzilla in the film is mutated by the Operation Crossroads test and his atomic breath releases a viral mutagenic plague that causes human targets to slowly turn into Godzillasaurs
>>39267050Watched it yesterday based on this post. I'm the anon that replied earlier. Considering it's a full 11 years before Blair Witch it has my compliments. I guess for 6500 they were limited as to how good they could make the ayys look.
>>39267011La Cité des enfants perdus will fuck you up - dont do drugs watching it kiddos
>>39282173What is this?? I can't find anything about this movie name or image.

Nefarious.I was pleasantly surprised by this.
Alien Code (2018)
>>39311634AI makes sense. The image is flawless aside from the objects on the table.
>>39301444Just watched this based on your recommendation. It's not very good. I guess it is mildly /x/ related though.
The Bye Bye Man I never seen so many redpills in a film before, the director is probably an /x/ poster It's essential viewing for /x/, an actual masterpiece of cinema that critics shit on as they couldn't understand such a philosophical, esoteric film
>>39301017Yes, that sexy black lingerie. Fuuuuck. It would make my head penis pop too!
>>39293276Was that the one w Gene Hackman? Where he doesn't look up because of spy shit?
>>39307848Worth it for the ending scene alone.

The Sacrament is decent if you're into cult type shit. Good depiction of the Jonestown massacre.
