Item number: SCP-1439-JP

Object class: Uncontained

Special containment procedures: SCP-1439-JP is managed by Foundation agents embedded in the Vatican. SCP-1439-JP is to be cemented from the inside of each basilica and is forbidden to be opened in any year except Holy Year.

Description: SCP-1439-JP is the Holy Door (Porta Santa) of St. Peter's Basilica located in Vatican City. Currently, SCP-1439-JP is protected under the authority of the Vatican, making explicit and direct interference by the Foundation difficult. As of 200, agents including Cardinal who has embedded in the church allow the Foundation to intervene on a limited basis. Under normal circumstances, SCP-1439-JP is sealed in accordance with the doctrine of the Catholic Church and is inactive. SCP-1439-JP is opened by the church in a cycle of approximately 25 years after 1400 AD to coincide with the Holy Year. The Foundation is currently considering controlling SCP-1439-JP by canceling or postponing the Holy Year.

When left in an open state, SCP-1439-JP has a low probability of activating and functioning as a time-space portal. When active, an unidentified humanoid entity (hereafter referred to as SCP-1439-JP-A) emerges from SCP-1439-JP. Recorded footage recovered by the investigation team has confirmed that SCP-1439-JP-A's appearance resembles the body plan of a typical terrestrial vertebrate, that it has a complex beak on its snout that opens up and down, that it is completely hairless, that it supports its weight on a pair of hind legs, and that its torso is curved backwards. In addition, SCP-1439-JP-A has a ring that appears to be made of metal attached to its right leg, and its entire body is covered with countless scars known as stigmata, mainly on its back.
>>
SCP-1439-JP-A makes any human who sees it directly (hereafter, the subject) recognize it as an "Apostle of God." It is unknown whether this recognition is related to the subject's religion or whether they believe in it at all. SCP-1439-JP-A communicates in medieval Latin. Direct contact with SCP-1439-JP-A is only authorized by the Catholic Church to the current Pope, and Foundation agents have not been successful in contacting it at this time.

After the dialogue, the Pope will contact various organizations around the world through the church as appropriate and transmit the contents of the dialogue as confidential. Until around the 18th and 19th centuries, the messages transmitted by SCP-1439-JP-A mainly consisted of the spread of superstitions and pseudoscience, but since then they seem to tend to be related to the development of weapons and medical technology, as well as new academic theories that contribute to the development of humanity. The messages currently known to the Foundation include the following.

A universe map consistent with the geocentric theory.
>>
A hierarchical structure diagram that does not suggest the phylogenetic development of living organisms.

A method for making a specific medicine for influenza virus H1N12.
The industrial manufacturing method for G agents3 and unidentified nerve gases, represented by tabun and sarin.
Nuclear fission theory and technical methods for isolating uranium-235.
A method for making an RNA vaccine for an unidentified SARS-related coronavirus.
A proof of Fermat's Last Theorem without using the Taniyama-Shimura conjecture.
Based on the time of the establishment of SCP-1439-JP, it is presumed that contact between the Catholic Church and SCP-1439-JP-A had already occurred around the 15th century. In addition, in the descriptions of past popes, there are multiple variations, including the position of the stigmata and rings, suggesting the existence of multiple instances of SCP-1439-JP-A. For details, please refer to Investigation Record 1.

Addendum: Thanks to Cardinal behind-the-scenes work, Pope Francis designated the period from December 8th of that year to November 20th of 2016 as the Extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy during the Lenten Conversion Ceremony (February 18th, 2015). The cardinal is scheduled to dispatch an investigation team to SCP-1439-JP during this period.

Investigation Log 1: The first investigation was conducted on 2016. The investigation team dispatched to SCP-1439-JP discovered that SCP-1439-JP was connected to a facility similar to a library (hereafter referred to as SCP-1439-JP-B). Multiple instances of SCP-1439-JP-A were identified in SCP-1439-JP-B, but all of them fled upon sensing the investigation team's approach, so they were not successfully apprehended.

The books housed in SCP-1439-JP-B are written in unidentified hieroglyphics, and the grammatical structure is currently being analyzed by the linguistics department. The contents of the books, as inferred from the illustrations contained within, are primarily as follows:

A document containing many descriptions that appear to be mathematical formulas, although they do not match human mathematical symbols. It is assumed to be an explanatory book on physical laws, etc.
Documents and books related to astronomy and space engineering. It describes a route from slightly inside the galaxy to the Orion Arm and the solar system, as well as what appears to be a discussion of the route.
Documents discussing the Earth and its environment. Many of them depict the continent of Pangaea, but there are also diagrams reflecting the subsequent continental drift.
A group of books believed to be history books. Confirmed volumes include a religious history volume depicting SCP-1439-JP-A prostrating and following some abstract object, a war history volume suggesting armed conflict with some hostile force, and a volume depicting escape from a planet in a devastating environment including magma eruptions.
72 doors with the same structure as SCP-1439-JP have been confirmed on the walls of SCP-1439-JP-B, excluding SCP-1439-JP. Each door suggests a connection to a different space-time from the base world. The list of confirmed doors is below.

Number Connection
SCP-1439-JP-1 The three great pyramids of Giza are confirmed. The pyramids shine white by reflecting light, suggesting that the limestone covering their surfaces has not been lost. In addition, the forests are more developed than in modern times, suggesting that the pyramids were completed not long ago.
SCP-1439-JP-2 A savanna climate spreads, and apes live there. In addition to the modern African mammal fauna, a saber-toothed cat believed to be Homotherium inhabits the area, and it is speculated to be from the African continent in the Oligocene period of the Neogene period.
SCP-1439-JP-3 Many dinosaurs, such as Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and Edomontosaurus, live here. It is speculated to be from the Laramidia continent in the Maastrichtian period of the Late Cretaceous period.
SCP-1439-JP-4 A tropical region with ongoing large-scale volcanic activity. The surface and atmosphere are covered by a huge amount of volcanic ejecta, and the surrounding vegetation shows no significant difference from modern times, so it is speculated to be in the midst of the Toba event, which is pointed out in the Toba Catastrophe theory.
SCP-1439-JP-5 Snow fields and coniferous forests spread out, and large carnivorous bipedal birds form primitive settlements. No mammals have been identified, except for a few small chiroptera. No relevant biological group has been identified in Earth's history, and the age is unknown.

SCP-1439-JP-70 A savanna climate in the rainy season spreads, suggesting strong acid rain. Plants and fungi (including lichens) that are resistant to acidic environments live there, taking advantage of the abundant soil moisture. Based on the topography and the nature of the rainfall, it is speculated to be from the Carnian period of the Late Triassic.
>>
SCP-1439-JP-71 Eruptions of basaltic magma occur intermittently over a wide area. Taking into account the low oxygen concentration in the atmosphere, it is speculated to be near Siberia during the late Permian period, the Changsinjian period.

SCP-1439-JP-72 Unlike SCP-1439-JP and SCP-1439-JP-1 to 71, it was impossible to enter.

Note: As a result of the investigation, it is speculated that SCP-1439-JP-A is a humanoid originating from an extrasolar planet in the Milky Way Galaxy. Since SCP-1439-JP-1 to 71 are equally connected to the period after the end of the Permian Period, it is speculated that SCP-1439-JP-A does not have the technology to travel back in time to before the Permian Period, or that a creature from around the Permian Period in Earth's history connected time and space to the future. However, at the time of writing, there is no consensus on either hypothesis.

Based on the contents of the history book, it is speculated that SCP-1439-JP-A destroyed the surface environment of their home planet after a large-scale religious war, and that the surviving sect is planning to escape to outer space and colonize Earth. SCP-1439-JP and SCP-1439-JP-1 to 72 are considered to be a means of observation to select the optimal era for colonization. However, there is no consensus as to why they have not adopted drastic measures such as planetary remodeling despite their advanced space-time engineering technology, and further investigation is required along with increased vigilance.

The foundation, is now being degraded. Intended to be as solid as the Earth, is warped and chipping away. Not for any other reason but of those that can not moderate their insatiability. What drives that hunger, only those unaware of the impending disaster of their doing could say, but they are blissfully ignorant of the degradation. As such, the effort put into the pleasentries which carpet the cracks will undoubtedly plummet down. Swallowing up the material used in exploit.

Yet, it is still not their fault. Only those who are aware, and still ensure the fall begins. Thinking, because the knowledge in their possession will some how shield them. For it has not been the first time, and they believe it will not be the last, for time and time again, they choose power over all else. As is the curse of man, never learning the lesson of being.

So many efforts have been made to sway the thoughts of man, so many proofs, yet still the bond holds fast. That which they thought, will indeed be their last.

anon scp fell off like 5+ years now and i'm being generous
give up

>>39592797
Cool idea OP, I had fun reading
>>

Don't be lame, anon. It's mostly the website that sucks. Let the man try and salvage a cool concept as best he can.
>>
>>39594980
Don't be a ass dog, this is one of the cooler threads already tonight
>>

The concept has been overdone and though interesting i bet there's at least 10 articles with similarities to OP's
When it comes to science fiction, after writing 4000+ novels you start repeating yourself or spewing nonsense to catch up on the fading novelty of overdoing yourself somewhere down the line and it gets more and more kitsch
I unironically believe scp as an entire concept and universe should be frozen for the time being to establish a canon and give more opportunity to adjacent foundations in the same universe like the sarkic guys
>>
>>39595366
What a lame way of thinking. Do you read the Count of Monte Cristo and go "Awww, there's already LOADS of stories about prison breaks and revenge!"

Like, obviously, it's different, but just because something isn't wholly unique doesn't mean it can't have been done in an interesting way.

>LOADS
anon we're talking 7000+ as of today, without the iterations, tales, alternate hubbs, and inernational entries (-int, -jp, -fr...)
I've read my fair share of it and i love scp don't get me wrong but only 500ish entries are creative and good without being over the top or kitsch
also no hard feelings for OP, just had to point out the obvious it's not hard to find yourself plagiarizing something by mistake when it's been attempted that x many times especially in that context
>>
>>39595421
The concept really just boils down to "mysterious entity or supernatural object being observed and cataloged in the modern world"

I don't care how many entries on the website there are, there's still plenty of room for new creations under such a vague purview.
>>
>>39595430
erm actually the concept is more "incomprehensible entities confined from modern humans eyes to not disrupt daily life regardless of how dangerous they are", this is why most people fail to write an scp and why it's much more complicated than just writing a [redacted] that [redacted ] while [data expunged] that also , appearing to be

Fun ideas, I imagined the beings looking like the Chozo from Metroid
