How do you learn about occult and esoteric topics? Do you have any books, documentaries , YT channels or videos you would like to recommend?

What are you into? Eastern or Western occultism?

I’m ok with it, it’s good to actually have some good recommendation threads.

The meditation of insight is good, if you are into western stuff maybe get started with the three books of occult philosophy?
>>
>>39594012
I guess I am more drawn to the Western occult traditions.

I just wanted to know what other ppl like

Im actually reading Agrippa's Occult Philosophy. For some reason there is a comfy feeling to older occult books. It makes me feel like a wizard reading old tomes.

Depends on what you're looking for really. Are you interested in spiritually-flavored philosophy? Something more practical? Or how to learn legitimately helpful techniques like Helenic traditional astrology from Ptolemy and Plotinus?

If you want philosophy, Madam Blavatsky's got you with Theosophy (think a post-Enlightenment post-Victorian collective attitude of musing philosophy and ritual towards the topic of spiritualism). You can also read the Kybalion as a sort of basic basic intro to Hermetic concepts (though that book's like "Hermes for Toddlers").

I recommend the yt channels Mystai and TheAstrologyPodcast for solid resources. The first one deals mostly with historical records of practices (dude who runs it has his BA in archeology) and covers subjects like the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM) translations and Egyptian ceremony. Second one covers actual astrological practices from Helenic, Middle Islamic, Medieval and Modern time periods without any fluff or vagueness.

Youre already reading so, you know. Reading leads to more reading. And, i dont know what it is, that, videos make me so fucking impatient. Im sure its not just that i cant concentrate. I can read for hours just fine. But videos im always either skipping or accelerating. It must be the psychological conditioning that, videos or just this damned internet makes knowledge one click away...
I dont really know what to reccomend
Fulcanelli, i guess. I like everything about symbols and stuff, even if he doesnt give too much, it adds to the mystery and thats the real joy. The feeling of the unknown
>>

but there are so many books which one do I choose, is it better to read a real book or is reading online equal?
>>
>>39596412
Reading online is fine, i guess. I only really get bored with videos if the host or whatever doesnt make it interesting. Well i told you fulcanelli so, read his mystery of the cathedrals. Its interesting enough. His second book, demeures philosophales, is more of the same though id say its a bit more dense. Anyway those two contain a lot of references so youll have more to add to your list
