Oh actually, I just read a massive book on the Tarot last year, so I should be able to give a decent answer.

Short version is it has no direct relation to succubi, being very specifically "of this world", but can be used as a tool for communication for the same reason it can be used for divination: Because there's enough cards with enough meanings to communicate all kinds of things.

Aside from that, the other occult purpose of the Tarot is basically as a set of symbolic philosophical flash cards laying out a scheme for the individual and collective enlightenment of humanity. That aspect of the Tarot further links to Kabbalah, Alchemy, and the wider western esoteric tradition of history.

I got a bundle that has 20 sticks each of lotus, lemon, lavender, pine, sandalo, dragons blood, white sage, agarwood, patchouli, myrrh, and amber, and then I got a set of backflow cones that have 40 each of red rose, sandalwood, palo santo, and white sage, plus whatever (apparently) cheap and bleh smelling cones that came with the burner I got for the whole lot. You said the deck was from a brand you follow? plus if you were seeing "tarot" as a recurring thing during research, your browser cookies were seeing the same thing.

When looking for occult influences on technology like Algorithms or AI, I would suggest that what you're specifically looking for is things that are NOT consistent with the input that you're giving to the system.

That being said, the Tarot is kinda "connected with everything" due to conveying certain ideas that are just True, so you see a lot of themes that pop among all the various traditions that contain some Truth.

It's highly symbolic and based on the hermetic system. Some people think it's connected to much beyond the golden dawn. They're idiots. It's specifically the golden dawn interpretation of qabala that the tarot decks you'll probably buy are based on. It's still useful and interesting, but you shouldn't weight the opinions of any method of divination too highly. Every deck also has a personality, so if your doesn't tend to feel helpful it's not that great. I'd recommend reading theory before attempting anything with tarot because it's much more educational in occult terms to simply read a real book written by an actual occultist. There's a reason tumblr witches are all into tarot and never seem to mention the great work

there is not much to say
If you believe magic is not real, then tarot is just a brainstorming device. Random cards pop up, and they give you ideas you might otherwise not consider, because it's the deck presenting ideas and not coming from you. And that is useful, but it's not magic. That is tarot for atheists.
Tarot is a divination tool. It works. Meaning you can scan the present, or possible futures. Probably also the past if you want.
You do a reading, and depending on your skill and ability, you will find accurate answers to your questions
especially if you find the same cards over and over again.
You can also view the tarot as a philosophical thing, where you start on the fool card and end with the world card, going in order. It is essentially the hero's journey, or a measure of "change in life"
The same thing is true of the I ching. It's a divination tool. but it also can be read as philosophy, specifically the philosophy of "change". Which is why the I ching books are called "the winds of change" or the "book of change" I ching is basically the eastern version of the tarot. Very similar, but different. I do both.
Again, it's the hero's journey.

Real signals or pure RNG?
A divination tool can be seen as a RNG, useful for brainstorming. That is useful, but it is not magic and it is not scanning. If you are actually receiving signals, it won't be a random number generator (which is pure noise, with no signal).
How to improve Signal to Noise Ratio, not just get noise/RNG?
To get real signals, you must do magic. I recommend doing at least 2 things to make it more accurate. 1: Put energy into the tool when asking a question, 2: Use intuition to ask if the info you received was accurate (before revealing the answer). Put energy into the deck (or other tool) while shuffling. Think of your question and imagine you are putting the emotions and thoughts related to that question into the physical deck. Then look at the top card (or a bunch of cards) face down. Ask yourself "Is this the right card?". A good feeling means "yes" and a bad feeling means "no". This is a basic form of intuition that almost anyone can learn (and is the basis of receiving signals or "sensing energy", later on).
Chance and Determinism
Remember, once you shuffle the deck, the top card is the top card. If you draw that card and look at it, it will be whatever card was on top. There is no magic in that. So all of your magic must happen BEFORE you reveal the result. Once the answer is decided, it is done. All that remains is to think about the answer.
What questions to ask?
You can ask any literally question. The insight depends on how creative you are with how you word your questions, what questions you ask. Asking multiple questions on the same topic should add clarity. You can also ask "Did I get the right idea about this result, or did I get confused?". Be creative.

FAQ Continued: "I summoned a spirit, but nothing happened, what do I do?"
There are 4 common explanations.
1: You have an emotional block. This manifests as ignoring or dismissing any signs, and is the most likely explanation if the person is already good at magic (not a beginner). Solving the emotional block will require addressing the relevant emotional obstacles.
2: Something happened, but it was too subtle or you ignored it. The way to fix this problem is to be more vigilant when looking for signs, and not dismissing them.
3: You did the ritual correctly, but your senses are numb and you couldn't sense any signs. Feeling energy (touches) are trained by energy work. Try NEW by Robert Bruce. Seeing/hearing are helped by general spirit communication skills and is made easier by trances. Try Consorting with Spirits by Jason Miller, and any book on trances.
4: You did the summoning ritual wrong. The experience should be intense and feel different from usual. Also, you might have inaccurately aimed the emotional energy. While building up your emotions, aim them at the idea of what kind of spirit you want to summon. Keep that concept firmly in your mind when you are building and releasing energy.

Take a month before summoning again, training up your energy work and trance skills. Once you can get into a deep trance whenever you want, and feel energy anywhere in your body at-will, you should have good enough skills to sense a spirit. Then try summoning again. If you still can't get results, you probably have a block based on trauma or painful memories.

About 70% of people get results on their first try. Some people have never trained their magic skills. After a month of training, those beginners get a result on their second try, and the number goes up to about 80%.
About 20% of people still get bad results, likely because of a block.

You are making a lot of assumptions.
They could be five minutes old, but have 5 centuries of knowledge. Or spent 10,000 years in stasis but they are only 10 years old in perceived time.
