Were you ever a part of a 'Gifted and Talented' program in your school days?

What do you remember about it?
>>
>>39633622
They took me and a bunch of other kids to McDonald's for breakfast one time
>>
>>39633622
>GATE
No, but that is an interesting acronym. Think about the esoteric implications of a gate. A gateway. Al Bab of a certain Persian religion. Stargates. Nexions. Then realize that there's probably a heaping dose of MKULTRA in there too. Mindwar. ATWAR.

Yeah I had a bunch of US military psychologists as a child, my parents put me on 800mg Seroquel per day as soon as my psionic abilities started to manifest, and I've skylined every IQ test I've ever taken, meaning my IQ is literally unqantifiable. Both my parents are CIA officers. I took a tour of PPPL Forrestal as a child. I have killed, as an adult, over 2 million human being by command and more than 400 by my own hand.
>>
>>39633654

There's a definite link to the Gateway Process, and some people claim that they were made to listen to those tapes and that the purpose of the program was to find the kids most susceptible to psychic phenomena. I'm not sure if this is true or if it is just a convenient theory.

Why would they put a kid with psionic abilities on antipsychotics? That's sad.

I was in GATE from 2001-2003 and I distinctly remember they would have us listen to hemisync tapes with those headphones. Whenever we had a field trip the GATE instructor would ask us to remote view the location and draw what we saw on a piece of paper, then we would get in a bus, go on the trip and arrive at the location and whoever had the most accurate drawing would get rewarded a pack of smarties. At the time I didn’t think anything of it I just thought we were doing hippy art exercises or something, and my mom was into those 90’s tv psychics and Sylvia brown and stuff is o just assumed it was normal and everyone believed in psychics, but I remember I was specifically told not to tell any of the other kids in class what we did when we returned (because it would make them feel alienated).

I’m pretty sure that’s just the plot to Akira.
>>
>>39633793
People fear what they don't understand. And there's at lot of evil in the world that a normal 8 year old kid has no way of processing or even understanding, let alone one who's mind is starting to unfold into high-level empathy. You feel other people long before you can talk to them without speaking....and worse.

>>39633826
I have never seen Akira, but I loved Steamboy.
>>
>>39633826
It was amphetamines in the manga and anime. Super strong amphetamines compared to what the bikers took regularly.
>>
>>39633700
>over 2 million human being by command and more than 400 by my own hand.

What operator skills/perks do you use? Your KDR is pretty good.
>>
>>39633836
Two color capsules intended to be amphetamines like the Japanese invented prior to WWII. One of their biggest contributions to the Axis war effort. It's about as fitting as the explosion at the beginning looking like a nuclear bomb explosion.

I was in GATE from 96-98 I’d say, possibly as early as 95 or as late as 99. Hard to say because I was quite young.

Frankly, now that I think about it, GATE memories are some of my earliest memories, though not the earliest, but that’s probably because my memory has been jogged with all the GATE talk. Funny enough, my second earliest memory is probably the time I almost drowned when I fell in the pool at 5 years old (second only to my brothers baptism). Don’t GATE kids have a shared experience of almost drowning?

As for the classes, I remember listening to odd Hemisync like music/sounds with big clunky old 90s headphones on in a dark room with a lady overseeing it, something to do with lights and my vision/eyes, and I vaguely remember a small “sip-sized” container of a pinkish liquid we drank. Sometimes these were small meetings with not many people in the room, and sometimes it was a larger class conducted with the lights off. This makes sense to me because I experimented with Castaneda-inspired darkroom, eyes open meditation and sincerely believe the sensory deprivation caused my kundalini rising / third eye opening.

This would have been the period I was in the program, but I don't remember anything about it. I remember about 5-10 of us being taken to a separate room and told we were gifted and talented and so would be taken out of class sometimes to do intelligence tests or be taught stuff separately. I remember them speaking to us like we were extremely special. And then... nothing. I remember absolutely nothing else about the program or what happened after that. I don't remember ever being taken out of class, or ever having it be mentioned again. The pictures of headphones, flash cards and the hemisync tapes give me a very uneasy feeling though. Whatever they did with me must have been extremely successful.

they took us to a weird parking garage where there was like a big truck and had us all take IQ tests and drink some kind of weird sweet liquid
my advanced reading class was done essentially in a broom closet and i remember the teacher kept mispronouncing coraline (he'd say it like core-a-lean instead of core-a-line)

I remember this happening too, specifically the headphones and the smarties as a reward but its so fuzzy im not sure if it was a dream

How’s your undiagnosed PTSD masquerading as ADHD?
>>
Please help me to remember, anons.
>>
>>39634086
Weed and MDMA really help. Antipsychotics and antidepressants make it worse.
>>
>>39633866

>>
>>39633622
Yes.
I was in it
It was a program to find wanderers
>>
>>39634086
Explain this more, does that happen often? Also how does it manifest?
>>
>>39633622
"out of the box" style group projects like creating a craddle to hold and egg out of masking tape and straws, and dropping it from the roof.

Trying to think what archaeologists would say about the things in our house 1000 years from now.

basically drummed up for a teacher's aide to be smug to the regular teachers desu.

Kek, yeah… so if you’re willing to hear it, I believe that the GATE program is the terrestrial recruitment arm for the secret space program. Look into it, see if it resonates with you. You may have a belt of Orion in moles somewhere on your body. That is “their mark.”

we we're a mock jury and had to decide if some dude was guilt of murder

we made out of lego type plastic but it had to have moving parts, like an elevator or bridge. than programmed it to move.

it was a special class reserved after lunch

also, i became a total asshole after beng put in that program.

i went from loving school and enjoying homework to hating it and rebelling
>>

What are “wanderers”?
>>
>>39634929
I meant more along the lines of PTSD being misdiagnosed as ADHD?
>>
>>39635383
Same difference. PTSD makes people super dopamine dependent because if your brain is busy spamming dopamine it obviously isn’t in trouble. Leaves you burnt TF out because you spam your dopamine circuits and when you’re not you’re busy in procrastination work and cortisol binge.

If your parents had said no to you being in these programs, the teachers of GATE or whatever they call their gifted program would have been told by their adult handlers at the school to befriend you and pass on the things they are taught.

What was the thubs up 7 up for
What was the stupid thing about being told a story to not eat the marshmallow until a certain time and then them actually doing the test the next day at school.

from the 70s to 90s it was so mainstream to believe in psionics that there was a satanic panic

how did we get the blind society we have had the last 30 years?
>>
>>39633622
I remember how in primary school I was taken from lessons by other teachers at least a few times and taken to another class/room where there were (usually two) adults from outside the school. I remember how they put big headphones on me and played different sounds. I was supposed to react when I heard something specific or describe what emotions I was experiencing. I remember how they showed me big cards with different symbols (cross, circle, waves, triangle, square, etc.). I remembered about it only a few years ago when I saw a thread like this. At that time, my parents had very good contact with the school and knew practically all the teachers, the principal and other parents very well. Despite everything, when I asked them if they remembered such events, they were surprised because no one had ever informed them about it. I also asked my friends from the class. None of them remembered anyone being taken from lessons and subjected to such tests. Oddly enough, I remember that I was not the only one subjected to these experiments.

I was in a different program, but same concept. From 1st grade to 8th grade. I left public school for a private Catholic school for highschool. I will recount things I remember. For background I grew up in a very well off area, my grandfather left my father his house and we moved there. My grandfather was a spook. He carried nuclear codes around during the Korean war. Later he worked with Bill Clinton during his time as governor. I have some stories that my Dad has told me about my grandfather if anyone is interested. Point is, the school I went to was a public school in name only. I got moved into the the program early on.
>divided into sub groups
>started reading 2 books a week, fiction and non fiction
>these books were beyond what children would read, a great deal focuses on human psychology, anthropology and had an anti-chinese skew
>each book requires an report written in a BLUF intelligence format
>group members were incentivized to shame other students
e.g. if student A said something inaccurate or incomplete student B could mock them. this happened a lot to me, mostly due to everyone in the group hating me
>every class started with 10 minutes of listening to this tape, that from what I recall was just a ringing noise which concluded in a loud clap noise
>those in the program ate lunch that was brought to our homeroom instead of the cafeteria
>bi-weekly interviews with people I assume were psychiatrists or psychologists
I remember some other stuff. But if no one cares I will not write more. tldr, I think I was in a grooming program for intelligence specifically focused on China/SEA

I was in a unique program as a child. It wasn't GATE though but a different form of special education. My teacher called it "Special Ed". They were very nice, they let us wear helmets & eat all the glue we wanted. Yeah, I was on a different level than my inferior peers.

the pink was fluoride flavoured like that sweet strawberry syrup cough medicine
they iq tested you then made you retarded so you wouldn't be competition for their kids as adults
>>
>>39638546
I had to ask my teacher about it at the time they said it was benadryl or coughsyrup and were testing for iq. The other failsafe was cornsyrup.

This is always the answer I got. They told me never to ask about it again. I had repressed this and the answer they given but it took me a month to remember even that, they didn't even know what they were doing. It was either mandated by feds or they wanted to test for adhd or something new. Those who resisted were targets. I bailed out asap of everything because It felt super cultish. I dropped off the face of it and directly went to homeschool. People I trusted were using me for experiments.

They didn't know what they were using, I remember the teacher's specifically saying they wouldn't drink it because they didn't know what it was. It could have been seminal-nanobots that was co-engineered in a farm lab or some form of Contact-Fluid for Radiation Monitoring. It was something they shouldn't be drinking. It was a bio-chemical. They had two tests one for kids that were "group A" and quiet/loners that were "group B". One teacher that took it said it made her nose runny but couldnt tell anything else. She said she developed flu like symptoms for a day or had a small fever and it left as quickly as it came.

Everyone "expected" something to happen to one of them, they started saying one kid had an allergic reaction and they had to "take him out of school for it" so he could "talk to some white suits". Zero Questions were allowed.

It was rumored to make you retarded specifically so you would not mess with the school numbers or national GPA. To keep things easy. I couldn't argue about it, I ended up passing with a near 3.0 in my college and just stopped. I don't want to be a part of this BULLSHIT or obvious BULLSHIT curriculum. It pisses me off just how much BULLSHIT all of it is. Maybe 1 or 2 classes are worth learning through the rest is how to make TRASH=KNOWLEDGE look like a legit when its just a money scam.

I think they even injected him with with either anti-siezure or a sedative. I really wish it was just amphetamines, it was in 1998-99 before Y2K so I dont think it was as advanced or scary, but they had chemicals that maybe react under a microwave, all it would take it to have it in your system under a beam for it to do something. It might have been some form of liquid-oral vaccine too. The worst thing that was around was birdflu. People were scared because it was undetectable until it was too late, it would be everywhere. No one knows what it was. It might have been magnesium oil or some sort of pesticide.

It pisses me off they did this shit without parental consent. It was brought up once and ignored. It pisses me off they put me at risk for something trivial as fuck 30 years ago that doesn't or shouldn't matter now. It would have been nicer to just give us beer.
>>
>>39639617
Everything about it reeks of bio-chemical. Maybe for food testing. So that they could give it to us in lunches knowing it wouldnt kill us. I don't like being not told something that is directly happening to me. But I think it was hormones or puberty blockers. Something so discrete as to manipulate the development of a brain to give it either a fighting-chance/cold-wean for information. To keep their students docile or receptive to instruction. It is that complicated, they don't want to ADMIT what they were doing was "potentially" making unpredictable results, a year or two later school shootings started becoming popular by the way. Is this a connection? Who the FUCK knows?
>>
>>39633793
same reason a brilliant gifted classic greek child would be mysteriously raised by completely unrelated parents, and get their spines completely utterly FUCKED via a tumble down long stairs or a fall out of a high window.
>>
>>39633622
My parents refused to allow me to participate after school or with any of the program even though the school insisted it.
I got screwed over as a kid by my alcoholic drug addicted parents
>>
>>39637065
Agreed. I have said this before but got flamed. For me it was as follows:

2nd,3rd,4th grade- the classic GATE memories
5th grade- still classified “GATE” but less being pulled out
6,7,8th grades- my classes were designated GATE also in middle school, but they were just like advanced classes in high school
9,10,11,12th- no more GATE. Classes were: regular, advanced, seminar (seminar was like the ultra gifted 140iq kids)
