How do I join a "formal" Shaiva Math\Temple or Ashram\ Akhara? I have ISKCON temples in my city\ country\ nearby neighbouring country. And some loosely-hindu groups like art of living, osho, etc..But no pure shaiva org.I don't want to end up doing an internet religion...what do I do? Buy lingam, shiva idol, do basic pujas (milk, fire ,flowers)? and chant the mantra, listen to the shiva kirtans, maybe get a rudraksha mala for Mantras? >he's a blue guy, and he lives in a blue wooorld

Also Kashmiri Shaivism is a lot more different than the South Indian Tamil style practices given above).
>>39640936What every you do, stay away from ISKCON. They are an abusive cult which will destroy your life. You haven't said which country you are in. My advice is ask one of the million Indian immigrants flooding your country. (as they do with every nation on earth). If you are not Indian yourself, I suggest worshiping Christ in some form. Hinduism is really only appropriate to a certain slice of humanity. If you are not born into, it won't sit right with your soul, even if you do it for 50 years. You cannot just imitate ISKCON but replace Krishna with Shiva. Shaivism is quite different. The closest thing is Shaiva Siddhanta, the dualistic kind. There is a Kashmiri Shaiva yoga retreat in Colombia. https://ksschoolofyoga.com/winter-yoga-teacher-training-colombia/Still, be careful of cults and gurus. If you want to do this it is better to do it online where you can be independent, not be brainwashed and exploited. Kashmiri Shaivism is tantric and more vulnerable to this than most sects. Hinduism is rife with cults and cult abuse, more than any other religion on earth.

>>39640936Siva doesn't care about proselytizing or human affairs. He doesn't care the methods of worship either. He's a more personal deity. The Siva Samhita is a good manual to understand him through Yoga.Abhinavagupta/Kaula/Kashmir a Saivism is the intellectual and more esoteric form of Saivism. Tamil has a more folklore tradition too.The ironic things is that many materialistic people please Siva to gain materialistic boons as he doesn't discriminate and is easily pleased. While Vishnu is more focused on human affairs and makes his devotees live in austerity. The paradox between the hermit that grants and the prince that expects frugality from his followers.
>>39640936Why do you need to join some stupid cult to pray to Shiva? If you want to pray to him just do it
>>39644250This.Shiva doesn't care if what you ask for will trap you further or not.Vishnu doesn't really care what you ask for and will only give what helps multi, even if you hate it.
is it even possible to really-worship Bhairava, of there just aren't cremation fields in your country? or it's illegal to own kapala, go naked, smear cremation ashes, etc?Is Kapalika path "geographically exclusive"?
>>39644250Is "materialistic boon" actually not-bad\ not sinful, in Shaiva theology? or, they ARE bad boons, but Shiva wants you to learn your lessons by getting rekt by your own ego, so he fulfills them pedagogically?
