It's called wave-particle duality. Based on the observer, particles in atoms either appear as pure formless energy or matter. That energy is pure potential. It takes intent and awareness to turn this potential into matter. Unlimited potential, limited matter. It's simple quantum physics. You live in the universe, an ocean of unlimited potential, and you're another creation of its evolution. It doesn't sound so grand or special to most people I guess, but the fact that you're this rare form of matter in a universe full of endless potential but almost no matter comparatively is actually pretty awesome. You matter because you are matter. This also leads into pantheism, which is why Einstein was a pantheist, but you don't even have to make a religion out of it to simply understand that the universe itself is essentially what most people would refer to as God.
