When did (You) realise all the extremely gnostic and occultist imagery present in a couple of the most popular "indie" videogames
Mid 90’s (I read a lot of comic books as a kid)
If you would like your thread to succeed, perhaps you could screenshot and cite some examples?
>>39649262Fez?
>>39649269this hat is so coolI think i'll start wearing it in europe as a white man
>>39649096Ugly is a game I really really hate. It’s for evil suckers who don’t understand anything about my God but uses him to justify their satisfactions of evil. Anyone who works on that game is almost guaranteed to go to Hell.
>>39649262OP here, I decided Deltarune because I got to this conclusion from my autistic cousin ranting about it with me. She told me how "the angel", a yahweh type figure venerated by the local's religion is supposedly the main antagonist of the game. How the world is divided into light and dark realms with all the darkners being unworking comical retards (hylics) with very few gaining awareness that they are stuck inside a game or material realm and wanting to transcend it but going mad in the process (pneumatics), the main protagonist also wants to transcend the barriers of the game.I only saw this game on twitch from the only streamer I really watch a couple years ago and none of that really clicked for me until I heard some autist ramble on about it and it came as so offputting and strange but once you get the conclusion of the game's gnostic roots you start seeing it everywhere. Im also seeing some vague gnostic theming in other games like Cave Story and Off.
>>39649096About the time I realized the "imagery" was so basic that it literally CANT be absent from anything.>You used a color! That's occult!!
>>39649096No not the heckin video games omg
>>39649096>undertale fuck off faggot
>>39649096>>39649796Did you know that before Jesus was known by his human name or the son of man, he was “the ANGEL of the lord”.
>>39649796Non ironically Undertale/Deltarune is a parody of Gnostism.>Gaster-Lucifer/The Serpent (Omnipotent, fells into his own creation, sets game in motion).>Kris-Adam (First Man. Red. If Deltarune is a prequel, then this makes an absurd amount of sense.)>Chara-Eve/Lilith/Sophia (Followed Lucifer and caused cascade of events. Births/Destroys new timelines, has the most wisdom about their universe, unstated gender but very feminine)>Frisk- Jesus (Extension of Sophia, called the "Second Adam"). Actions actually have great effect on the timeline. Savior and Destroyer.>Flowey/Asriel-Demiurge (Soulless being in love with Eve, who is god of their world, serpent like features, Saturn symbolism because his alter ego is a goat, can control time and thinks very limited)>Human Souls- 7 archons (pretty self explanatory)
>>39649096Most people play video games for fun, but you're expecting a sermon?
>>39649096These games were made by a guy who worked on homestuck what did you expect
>>39649096Cruelty Squad is explicitly inspired by gnostic theology but I'm not sure how much of it had an actual philosophical point and what is just there to create its world
>>39649096Someone dhoukd have bullied Toby Fox to suicide in high school. What an utterly insufferable faggot.
>>39649096I noticed it in some triple A game too, recently>Lies of P: Move up the tower of Babel to defeat simon "Manus", who is an alchemist (literal group in the game) and the first son of god/Adam. Also contains Sophia, a 'Monad lamp', and a million other references>Prey 2017: Aboard the 'Talos' space station, you have to defeat the 'Typhon' who prey upon intelligent entities and basically consume their souls. Involves human transcension and another tower of babel reference (Talos). Specifically the transcension in this case involves humans becoming like archons (the typhon). Another interesting trope I found in this game, which appears in others, is telepathy, or the idea that transcension involves it.>Stalker 2: The 'living zone' is another tower of babel situation, just without the actual tower. It involves humans transcending via telepathy.>Pathologic Classic: Not AAA but still has gnostic themes. The polyhedron once again represents the tower of babel
>>39649096I’m using gnostic themes for my game too cus I think it’s cool
>>39649096I’m using gnostic themes in my game cuz I think they’re cool.
>>39649096when I played final fantasy 8
"the roaring" is a hilarious reference.
>>39650285What the fuck even is homestuck
>>39653139Webcomic that had a degenerate Tumblr and fanfiction following. Very cringe but the story itself actually contains disclosure about occult process. Kids playing a game cause the apocalypse and must link up with their demonic/space troll spirit-animals. The story uses the game's mechanics to convey occult truths like having a qareen spirit, your zodiac and life path deciding how you interact with that spirit, and the simulated realities you experience being exercises to bring you closer to that spirit.
>>39653139Other anon told you all you need to know. It's something that the people who call it cringe have read every episode and know everything about it.All I know is it's some webcomic from early internet that all the proto-incels fawned over and then started hating because it got popular.
>>39650087it’s from fucking Homestuck
