I can't believe eventually I'm just going to... not exist
What in the actual fuck is that like
Is it like... reaching infinity?
I can't cope with it... we're all doomed to meet an unimaginable fate...
>>
also how the FUCK can people live normally knowing they have no idea what is it like not existing

if you don't follow the white light the next light is the smoky light of the hell-beings so unless you escape that and become a human again you will be trapped in hell when you resist the white light. you have to go to the blue light

What you think is an end of a tunnel is actually more tunnel.
>>
>>39700256
some people think that death is just a timeskip - no matter if the next conscious experience is a year ahead or a million years ahead, you just skip right to it
but what if there is no next conscious experience? i can't wrap my mind around it...
>>
>>39700270
Yeah you're getting it. Time and space doesn't mean anything. You go where you're going.
You're worrying because you're too close to lower consciousness. Raise your consciousness higher to stop grasping on to illusion. I don't question anything when my consciousness is very high. This wasn't anything in the first place.
>>
>>39700360
is it really a raised level of consciousness when it makes you not question your future, though? that scares me
>>
>>39700383
Yes because you become part of consciousness instead of taking the role of victim. There is an irrationality that needs to be embraced.
>>
i believe conciousness exists outside of the body, ever had an out of body experience (also known as OBE)?
>>
>>39700149
A lot of stories from people who've gone under general anaesthesia for surgery describe it as being like "first they have you start counting down from 100, then for a second you smell a funny smell, and then you blink and the surgery is over" because it knocks you out so thoroughly that you don't even have a sense of time passing while unconscious.

So if death is true non-existence, then I imagine it's just like that, not something especially momentous. Maybe there would be a lot of drama going on as your dying depending on how exactly you're dying, but death itself would be just like blinking and then you're gone, like a finger-snap.
>>
>>39700149
our soul goes on forever anon.
>>

That’s exactly what it’s like, weird vaguely related story

>I woke up I had only minor surgery so could go home after an hour or so
>left around 11pm
>Got home
>extensively researched Antarctica for 5 hours straight
>sleep
>wake up
>no memory of doing that or why
>so so many screenshots
>next day the why files released the admiral byrd episode

Where did I go? Why did I develop an insatiable interest in Antarctica when I woke up? No idea

Its dreamless sleep I.E. a nonexperience. Nothing to fear. Identical in character to before your birth. You have no anxiety about the time before your birth, death is a return to that state, from which, only life can emerge after. Think this all the way through, and you will reach enlightenment. Very truly I tell you this.

Many of the Christians with suicidal impulses were naturally selected out of the Christian gene pool in the first few centuries, and then around the 5th and 6th centuries they decided to classify it as a sin to put a stop to it.

I believe that time isn't quite real because I think I've experienced precognition, so the way I would explain this is that during anaesthesia your mind got temporally dislocated a bit and maybe you were influenced by the admiral byrd episode to research Antarctica before the episode came out.
>>
>>39700156
You know EXACTLY what its like to not exist. You didn't exist before you were born my guy and buddy that's precisely what its like after you die. Nothing, nada, zilch, no perspective on anything at all, that is

BUT you wouldn't give a shit because what's eternity to something that has no higher ordered nerve cells to perceive it?

The buddhas have it right to an extent, it's reincarnation without all the Karma and such, its more like randomness along a line of best fit. Where it may get complicated is if you procreate; as I think there is some form of genetic memory that would allow for the perpetuation of your consolidated "Soul" continuously and localized in the same Universe along a linear time frame.

You're going to die, you've already died a bunchatimes (Unless this is your first go around) and you'll probably keep dying for infinity. That's the true horror of the Universe and of existence really, once you get it your kinda stuck with it.

but that's just my two cent and I have made that up based on no empirical data save my own intuition.

Jesus made it clear we live forever and there is only two places for us to go. Heaven or Hell.
>>
>>39702565

Or is it one of those two?
>>
>>39700149
We keep going.
>>
>>39700149
>I can't believe eventually I'm just going to... not exist

if only it were that easy. thats like going to sleep every night. whats worse is having to be conscious forever, and thats whats actually going to happen. the question is, where will you be conscious forever? heaven or hell?
>>
>>39700149
You are not alone, I've thought about this a lot in my life and it's gotten better/easier as I've aged. If you do not believe in an afterlife, like myself, it feels pretty much impossible to imagine what true nothingness feels like. It's horrifying and bizarre. People say "you know what nothingness feels like, because there was a time before you were born", but you quite literally did not exist, you had no brain, no physical form to experience. Whether you believe in the soul or not, you need a physical form to "experience" anything. People have near-death experience and out of body experiences, but these are not death. They are "near" death but not true death.

You cannot know what comes after death for certain. It's best to try not to worry about it. Though I know how difficult that can be if you have "death anxiety". You do not want to lose hours of your life to worrying about that which is currently inevitable.

The Kingdom of Heaven will one day descend upon the Earth i.e. one day, this world will be made Heaven, and it will last for all eternity, forever becoming more beautiful with each passing day. A total rager of a party that only gets more exciting and awesome to be a part of the longer it goes on, rather than the typical, “there’s drunk chicks and red solo cups stinking of rotten beer and vomit littering the floor by 3:30 am” were used to here.

This earth, this mortal, passing world, is both the battleground and the place where the poetry of God’s creation is being written. Yes, this includes everything else too, space and sky, trillions of galaxies, and every dimension beyond. All of it made whole.
>>
>>39700149
Living forever is the worse outcome than dying anyways. if you lived to a thousand, you'd be begging for someone to put you out.

>>
>>39700149
it wont end and it cant end
you literally popped up here seemingly 14 (or whatever) billion years into this universe out of nowhere

nothing cant become something
which means you were always something, and will always be something.

no one here knows wtf happens after, theyre pretending to or coping. OP all that is clear, and the only logically deducible thing about this entire topic is that there is no end.

Some find this reassuring. Depends who you ask

>>
>>39700577
Jesus anon, are you trying to make op feel worse?
>>
>>39700971
Except for the small detail that your body and brain get destroyed
>>
>>39704955
It's fucking horrifying and it's gotten worse as i've aged, never thought about it much when i was young. It's like a yawning, black abyss reaching out for me.
>>
>>39700577
It's just like that. "Going under" GA is, to be blunt, the job of technicians to keep you juuuuust barely alive for long enough for the surgery to complete. Just at the edge where your heart is still beating.
>>
>>39706437
Why should that make someone feel worse? Lots of people have gone under general anaesthesia without being traumatized by it or anything. If death is nothing, then it's nothing to be scared of.
>>
>>39706504
The scary part isn't the nothing - it's the possibility of waking back up again. Who's to say there won't be a super advanced race of gilgfloflorps 3 million years from now who have a habit of cloning random lost species as rape toys? What if that's already happened?

Well that's a completely different concern. I assume you're basing it on the assumption that your consciousness would jump to wherever in the universe a collection of atoms might sufficiently approximate your brain, but that's not a given. I actually don't think physicalists have an especially good account of what provides the sense of continuity and localization of consciousness, so I'm partial to believing in some variety of soul, but it's possible to imagine that subjective continuity depends on a specific material basis as well as a specific functioning of that basis, and if both of those things are destroyed then "you" are gone for good regardless of whether those atoms might reassemble into something capable of consciousness or some other atoms might assemble into something similar to your brain while you were alive.
>>
>>39706522
you're under the impression that reality is objective and amoral. reality is made as a collective experience and most people don't want to look at a nightmare. the life you appear in reflects your soul. it's not about past or future, think laterally too. its about the kind of dream you want
>>
>>39706522
I didn't think that's how cloning works.
>>
>>39700149
Death is just a return to your natural state of not existing. There's really nothing to be afraind or anxious. But that's easy said then done tho, cause you were programed for self-preservation.
But know this: this idea of self can be destroid while you are still alive, and it even feels like dying. The process sucks, but when you finnally break the veil and shater your self, your ego you'll find the most absolute peace.
So yeah, when you die you'll be at peace.

TO ALL OCCULT INDIVIDUALS IN THIS THREAD:

You may reach dominion over earth, fire, water, air and space, but what is the use of it if you're going to die and leave all of your knowledge to the worms under the earth? You can travel all the astral realms and meet strange beings that will impart sweet secrets to you, but what is the use of it if at your last breath you will lose them forever? You may commune with the highest demons and forge powerful contracts with them, but what is the use of it if they can't ever help you get away from the clutches of destiny and transitoriness?

You may probe into the heart of magick and reap its many fruits, you may rest into the bosom of occult attainment for many years, even ages, but there will come a time when all that you conquered and cherished will be violently robbed of you, and you will have to go into dark depths alone and vulnerable. Death comes for all. Each breath you take, each quote you read, each sigil you draw, each ritual you perform takes you closer and closer to the final hour. Death never stops coming closer, and here you are, totally vulnerable to this most terrible god yet without the smallest amount of worry in your heart, just like a naive cow being led to the slaughterhouse where she will be decapitated.

How can you ignore this most important fact? You're all extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in many arts, yet you ignore the invincible demon that will eat your heart very soon! How can you tarry? The intelligent person will clearly see that he should focus all his efforts in overcoming this most definitive destiny. All else is secondary. Don't waste your life!
>>
>>39708126
This stuff is very subjective to the person. I know that it's probably true that you go there but personally I don't connect with it at all. Your spirit is part of what manifests society. I never liked society.
>>
Compare it to living with huntingtons disease or as my favorite toothless ona hole.
