Is all occultism and magick a larp?If Aleister Crowley was such a great occultist then why he couldn't he save himself from going bald?Same with Austin Osman Spare, he was bald and miserable and died in poverty.
>>41036618What if magic makes you bald?
>>41036723becoming bald comes with upgrades
>>41036618>If Aleister Crowley was such a great occultist…Who actually believes this? I don’t know anyone who does.
>>41036618He used up all of his occult power to play with all the man ass that he fancied for a period of time. He got what he wanted out of it.
You know how warlocks in wow sacrifice their health for mana or whatever? Same idea
>>41036723>practice magic>go bald>must be the magicbeing a magician is easy when you don't understand cause and effect
>>41036618I am still more interested on why specifically he needed to go to Algeria to scry the Aethyrs and the visions he got to see there as per his claims.
>>41036618why would he prioritize hair, how gay
>>41036618>Is all occultismNo>and magickYes
Crowley, while well known in popular culture, was not a particularly accomplished magician. Actual adepts say he was never able to ascend past Tiphareth because of his obvious NPD.
>>41036618Didn't you make this exact same thread on /lit/? Yikes
>>41037089He couldn't even make it into Da'athThat alone discounts nearly everything he wrote
>>41036618>Is all occultism and magick a larp?Yes. (Aliens, those are totally real though.)>If Aleister Crowley was such a great occultist then why he couldn't he save himself from going bald?Because it's a LARP. It does nothing. It's like those guys that sell courses about how to get rich quick.
>>41036723>>What if magic makes you bald?>Uses wank and sex exhaustion as part of his rituals >Gets his body depleted of the vitamins and nutrients to heal itself>GETS BALDWho could have see that coming?
>>41037121This, glowies and detractors don't even try anymore>>41037241Fucking Imbecile
>>41036618So *occultism* proper is fake and gay and a sunk cost fallacy. Theres a few good ones but you can bet if its downstream of the Victorians its basically all LARP and sunk cost fallacy. You are very correct in your observation when discerning wizards from larpers. Crowley died like a dog, so did Spare, Blavatsky was a charlatan, Dee suffered the same fate (though this was more of him being seriously misled as a result of a skill issue than it was him being a larper ). But we can discern actual successful magicians and wizards and those are the ones you want to learn from. Not because theyre notorious but because you can see that their magic worked for them. Occultists are basically e-celeb worshippers and prize somebodies notoriety over their actual abilities in using magic successfully.Wizards of note:Zosimos, Ibn Umayil, Iamblichus, Al-Buni, Abulafia, Al-Qurtubi, Fulcanelli, Francis Barrett, Trithemius (pay attention how Levi and Agrippa are not on that list)Modern pop-wizards whos magic is clearly working and arent degenerate larpers: Duquette, Peter Carroll, Damien Echols, Christopher Warnock, Frater Ashen (please notice that Skinner, Donald Tyson, and McCarthy are not on this list).
>>41037667>Occultists are basically e-celeb worshippers and prize somebodies notoriety over their actual abilities in using magic successfully.b-b-b-b-bASED
The whole point is to LARP so hard you work yourself into a shoot. In this way you gain experience and can discern this energy when there’s more effort and thought put into whatever intentions you’re signaling. by routing the pathways to ascension you make your mind more predictable, this can be interpreted if you lack defense or awareness to these forces. Without proper guidance and instruction you’ll be weak to the great filter.
>>41037780>The whole point is to LARP so hard you work yourself into a shoot.Nailed it.And when it becomes a shoot, you either go literally insane or just a touch obsessed trying to figure out how the hell the LARP actually turned into a shoot.
>>41037667Francis Barrett used Agrippa in a lot of his works. Three Books of Occult Philosophy has some gems in it, better than any New age stuff at least
>>41036618>you're an occultist that has access to the inner-workings of reality and can perform magick>why couldn't he save himself from going bald?I really wish there was an IQ test to access 4chan. We have all of these midwits in here that think "because I'm on 4chan, I must be edgy and like- really quarky and autistically smart." There should be a puzzle that people have to solve before the 4chan site loads.
>>41038169>There should be a puzzleNo, this will have opposite effect. Puzzles draw schizos like moths to flame.
>>41038177>No, this will have opposite effect. Puzzles draw schizos like moths to flame.Anon, re-read that post, the test is to cull out the MIDWITS, and let only uebermensch and drooling retards saints in.
>>41036618>why he couldn't he save himself from going bald? The most important thing in life is having a full head of hair. Last thing OP wants to do is be balled.
>>41038088Yes but barrett corrected Agrippa through practice. The biggest issue is that Agrippa was an armchair and if you try to practice his stuff you start noticing the glaring issues with his techniques. Issues that can only be ironed out with direct spirit contact and a knowledge of kabbalah/Hebrew. Agrippa was basically a copyist that organized the work into one tome. Barrett was an actual conjurer and knew the kabbalah more intimately which is why he was able to correct Agrippa.
>>41036618>retarded npc bot does not understand what magick isEpstein did nuffin wrung. I support forced vaccination of wage slaves. All-in with the transhumanist cabal. Your kid will be a tranny and you will be happy.
>>41036618he could have been a great occultist but was too much of a degenerate faggot to do anything meaningful with besides communicating with some kind of demonic alien.
>>41037667>Duquette, Peter Carroll, Damien EcholsLmao...
>>41037667>Damien Echolslol
>>41036618>Is all occultism and magick a larp?Absolutely fucking not, it’s an incredibly intense thing to practice even if it is worth it>If Aleister Crowley was such a great occultist then why he couldn't he save himself from going bald?>Same with Austin Osman Spare, he was bald and miserable and died in poverty.Just because you know how to surf doesn’t mean you can endlessly ride waves in peak performance, magick is a skill that takes a massive amount of energy, planning and effort like any other. Even mastery doesn’t mean that it’s a cheat code for life, think of it like excess g another muscle
>>41040995And Crowley was teaching non-attachment, even the sex-positivity was part of that in a radical sense because you are often attached to the rules regarding sex so much that they ruin any non-attachment, so why would he prevent himself from becoming bald?
>>41041005>Crowley was teaching non-attachment by cooming all the timewut?
>>41041174He taught that one should pursue that which destroys one’s preconceived notions, if you have many deep repressive psychological hangups about sex then he recommended one should challenge these preconceived hangups, if someone has poor impulse control then they should strive towards more Chasity in terms of self-control etc. It’s not so much the thing in itself, but how attached you are to it
>>41036618It's all just aura strengthening and working with entities. All the other trappings are just that.
>>41041264Nah his preoccupation with materialism like sex and drugs is the opposite of non-attachment IMO. Abstinence would be more aligned with non-attachment.
Crowley shaped the world and founded a religion that's still around. I don't think he was necessarily correct about everything, but people are still discussing him today. If there was nothing to him then he'd be forgotten by now like every other insane rich person. His weird experiences involving his wife in Egypt and the founding of Thelema as well as his crazy experiences attested to by Neuberg point to him having some ability. I don't necessarily think those things mean that he was very powerful, but I do think he had some ability and was very driven. Those things mean you can be remembered by history, and his discoveries about sex magick and his decision to tell the world mean that occultism would never again be so hidden. Also, when someone discovers the path, they inevitably learn about Crowley sooner or later-- that has to mean something.
>>41036618What few grains of truth he had were not new and better expressed by other writers (in spite of his talent), and the lies he told himself and others were, of course, a net negative.
>>41040672Why lol? He got away with murder. I mean, it took a while, but still
>>41044424>magic is when you take "a while" to fart out an alford pleaAnd what was he doing on the inside? Zen and some generic GD shit? It wasn't magic. It was just time and desperation.
>>41044483it was so obvious that they did it, that to me it seems like a miracle they got off. idk what he was doing inside, but whatever it was, it worked
>>41044596Some of the most talented magicians I know of within my indirect social circle work their shit within two weeks tops. To go for nearly two decades and then pull off what amounts to "I'm innocent, but yeah you got evidence that could convict my ass hard" isn't very indicative of a good magician. If in fact there was any magic involved at all. I'm not saying I approve of magic. I'm just saying I don't think he used any magic.
>>41044686I'll concede that maybe he wasn't a great magician, but he's not nothing either. Furthermore, consider the fact that his involvement in the crime created his financial success and now he is somewhat of a minor celebrity.
>>41040672>>41044424and he's baldinghmmm its really adding up
>>41044981obviously hair interferes with the brain's magickal transmitters, so they have no choice but to go bald for their work
>>41036618>t. >>>/lit/24685559
>>41044902Lmao the only thing I'll give you is that he found the right set of degenerate celebrities to boost his popularity. From there it was just a matter of leveraging his sensational backstory to sell books and make money off of appearances, which isn't that hard of a sell in a degenerate society. If you see a magician whose main success as a magician is in selling books about magic, what you have isn't a magician but a snake oil salesman.
>>41045024I wish I was rich so I could LARP like these guys.
>>41045284i guess having money was the real magick all along
>>41036618Tbh he looks like the type of.fucker whp enjoys baldness.
>>41036618First, ask yourself why Crowley and most ‘occultists’ just turn into homosexual orgies. Where the guys at the top get the pick of the litter, and the ‘initiate’ gets fucked in the ass.Secondly, ask yourself why no one mentions Crowley’s final words on his death bed.>hint: he found out the real truth in his demise
>>41040995>magick is a skill that takes a massive amount of energyLearn the law of reverse effort, literally it's about decreasing resistance and that brings in energy, doesn't deplete it.
>>41046463>hint: that oft-reposted "deathbed quote" is fake
>>41046546how do you know?
>>41036618I'm pretty sure Crowley was a grifter who drank his own kool-aid.
>>41046463What's funny is that he actually had his submissive twink fuck HIM in the ass when they were in the Algerian desert. But yeah, it was intended as a homosexual rite in offering to the god Pan. You think you know how depraved Crowley was, and then you find out he was more depraved than that.
>>41036618Yes
>>41036844Checked. Literally this.Magic is all about manifesting the experience you want to live. He wanted to be magically gay. He achieved it.
>>41036618>is all occultism amd magick a larp?Yep. You figured it out. All it is, are systems WE made. It's literally just imaginary games with made up and arbitrary rules that don't do anything at worst, and give you a placebo effect at best.
