What do you guys think about the stream of thought that the Holy Spirit is the "Mother" of the Trinity (Syriac Christianity and shekhinah mysticism, also "born of the Spirit" language), and that Sophia is Jesus feminine side (compare 1 Corinthians 1:24 and Colossians 2:2-3 with Proverbs 8 and 9)? It seems pretty compelling to me, but I hesitate to apply this too literally because it would mean Christianity contains "goddesses" within the godhead which seems completely alien to me.

The Holy Spirit was connected to Sophia because both are feminine, well, Pneuma and Sophia are, and Paul identifies Jesus with the Wisdom of God
But the Trinity is neither male nor female, Wisdom/Sophia should be seen as God's Image, the Church which is the Body of Christ, the Temple of the Holy Spirit and as the Uncreated Energies in Orthodoxy

Why would that necessitate connection just because both are feminine? Wouldn't it make more sense for the Holy Spirit to be the Fathers counterpart, and Sophia the counterpart to Christ?

That's my point. If Sophia were connected to the Spirit then you'd be saying Holy Spirit = Sophia = Wisdom = Jesus, and that wouldn't make sense to me because it would be like the Spirit and Jesus being the same person.

The topic of wisdom is very complex, that's why there is Sophiology, I'll just tell you this
Sophia is the Body of Christ, the Holy Spirit works in the body, that's their relationship, God reveals himself as Wisdom
Even simpler, the Trinity is the Soul, Wisdom is the body of God

One thing I've found a little interesting but haven't looked into much at all is this saying of Jesus from the gospel of Thomas. It's the final saying in the collection
>(114) Simon Peter said to them, "Mary should leave us, for females are not worthy of life." Jesus said, "See, I am going to attract her to make her male so that she too might become a living spirit that resembles you males. For every female (element) that makes itself male will enter the kingdom of heaven."
I don't attach a lot of credibility here since I'm still uninformed, but couldn't it be argued that this is what Jesus did in his incarnation? The feminine Sophia incarnates as the masculine Jesus? Although this is obfuscated by proverbs 30:4 mentioning God having a son, and the fact that the gospel of Thomas isn't canon and doesn't seem to have been very well received by the early church

No because Jesus is the Incarnation of the Second Person, The Son or Logos. The passage in question, to hazard a guess, has to do with changing the soul-constitution of a female (passive) to be more masculine (active) and thereby to resonate better with the creative aspect of God.

Note the following in Ephesians 5

The Church is the Bride of Christ.
The Church is the Body of Christ.
The Bride of Christ becomes the Body of Christ, because Christ is the Head of the Body.
The Female Bride becomes the Male Body.
The Two are made into One.

Of course, just because Ephesians Deutero-Paul interpreted some precursor to Thomas 114 this way does not mean that is the only interpretation. But if you take a closer look at gender in Authentic Paul and Deutero-Paul, you will find a lot of little snags like this. The Holy Spirit is indeed likely intended to be Wisdom.

God is One with his Bride, Israel, who is One with her Son, Jacob, which means the Son is also One with the Father. By being Filled With The Spirit, you are filled with God's Wisdom, and become One With Him by being an expression of said Wisdom, thus partaking of God's immortality.

God will deal with you just like how he dealt with everyone else who has done such a thing in these threads. I don't know how he does it but believe me when i tell you that every time someone is this wicked in these threads God finds a way to remove them so that all the true Christians can be at peace.

Again don't assign gender to God, that Thomas logia/saying is most likely a call to the union of opposites, Paul says that in Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile, so for Thomas there should be no Male or Female, what is male should become Female and what is Female Male
