I first heard about it on October 27th, a few days before perihelion. It captured my imagination, something about it made me take it seriously, and I wondered if it somehow signaled the end of the world. On October 30th, on the day of perihelion, the girl I thought I would marry unexpectedly ended things with me, and I haven't heard from her since. In these intervening months, my outlook on the world has been extremely bleak, and for the most part, my luck has been very bad. My life seems largely devoid of joy and purpose.I don't know what any of this means really. It looks connected to the comet, at a glance.

We already know embedding a beacon inside a rock is the best way to withstand the extreme environmental conditions of outer space. it looks as if the probes were designed by understanding that the only result they can hope for is a first response hundreds of millions of years into their future. If we assume they first detected our biological atmosphere some time during the Cambrian this would explain the current proliferation of Deneb-type probes in our solar system.We are certain that probes are currently piling up in the ecliptic, and they are easily detectable on purpose. Whether that's good or bad news we don't know.
