The Anti-life question. In the last thread some people said Gnosticism is anti-life and I wanted to address that but the thread got archived. The fact that Gnosticism is largely a system of personal awakening and development, while not ignoring the big picture issues, is part of what makes it so attractive to those who are disgusted with tgr controlling and Demiurgic nature of basically all religions and even mainstream Science and Philosophy. There isnt a Gnostic Bible with commandments to follow. And the Nag Hammadi texts while interesting from a literary perspective should be treated with suspicion as they are tainted with abrahamic ideology, even if through inversion. There are however some people here who seem to be infected with “the hatred of all life” as Nietzsche called it, or some kind of jewish anti-natalist mind virus, who conflate this ascetic anti-life view with gnosticism and the war against the Demiurge. To me the mist important teaching im Gnosticism os the difference between Soul and Spirit, recognizing the Divine spark of Spirit as something that exists outside of and above the counterfeit material creation, and something which we can awaken and get closer to, as even though it has been conditioned by thiis realm, it is not wholly concurrent with it.Previous thread: >>42364161

>>42380620As was said multiple times before, there should be a clear line drawn between the historic early christian sects that were dubbed as "gnostics" by roman church heresiologists and what we call "gnostic worldview" these days. There is no continuity, lineage or inheritance between the two other than the fact that the latter was loosely inspired by the example of the former, among other things. The crux of the modern gnostic worldview is the belief that this world is a prison and that the state consciousness is forced to exist within it is perverse. And also that the key to getting liberated from this trap lies in personal development, knowledge, awareness and enlightenment. As opposed to blind faith and dogmas of most mainsteam religions.Finer details and beliefs as well as ethics may differ between groups and individuals, but those things are the common trait that allows to identify someone as "gnostic" these days.>some people here who seem to be infected with “the hatred of all life” as Nietzsche called it, or some kind of jewish anti-natalist mind virus, who conflate this ascetic anti-life view with gnosticismAnti-natalist views and asceticism at least to some degree are quite logical and expected within the framework of gnostic worldview. They are indeed "anti-life" in a sense that this material existence is understood as fake/illusory life. Therefore there is zero reason to procreate as it just further increases attachments and misery. So, your "no true scotsman"-like take here looks bizarre. Ngl it almost sounds like you want "to have the cake, and eat it".>the war against the DemiurgeWhat do you mean by it and how do you imagine it?
Read about the ancient Aryans. Read about the Celts, the Germanics, the Slavs, the Greeks and what their attitudes toward death and reincarnation were."Anti-life"Because you've been inundated with bullshit.
