For example Conor Mcgregor got absolutely humiliated by Hafthor, but would a 6 foot trained fighter get brutally mogged by a 7 foot guy, or a 6'4" guy get brutally mogged by a 7'4" guy? Surely at some point there's diminishing returns due to the square cube law and also the kind of genetic disorders that cause Guiness Book of World Records level tall people to die early and be very frail. So what height is the cutoff? And what height is the ideal?

How exactly was macgregor humiliated in this video?
>>
5'6" is the ideal male height as long as you widemaxx

what's your height?

Got it, it’s a bait thread

Never. Height, weight, and reach advantages will always be advantages. It's true that a healthy giant is a rarity, and a healthy giant with the physique and the mindset to become a professional fighter is even rarer, but it isn't impossible. I suspect that as medical technology and sports science continues to improve, we shall see more supergiant fighters in the years and decades to come.

It's always going to matter, but weight is the bigger factor. Mike Tyson is only 5'10'' for example. The shortest heavyweight boxing champion was Tommy Burns, at 5'7''. Though that was back in the early 20th century. He was also the only Canadian world heavyweight champion. Surprisingly, not the lightest heavyweight champ, that was Bob Fitzsimmons at 167 lbs.

Igor Vovchanchyn used to heem dudes that were 6'6 and 300 pounds while he himself was 5'8. Dwight Qawi was a 5'6 boxing heavyweight. Being smaller is definitely a disadvantage but you can at least hang with the big boys if you're at least 200lbs.

If that's the case, why are wide dudes looked upon with ridicule instead of with primal fear? Why arent tree trunk thighs or wide torsos considered as aesthetically pleasing as an adonis belt or six pack abs?
>>

6'10" is about cutoff line. Height past that usually associated with disorders in the body. And this height there would be already much non balanced men,

because beauty standards play biological role in mating

Nobody looks at a guy like that and thinks "Haha, look at Shrek over there, I'd easily beat him". It's not a pretty build and it isn't one that a twink can get if he just spends enough time at the gym, but everyone who sees it knows there's power there.

you over estimate the average persons ability to judge and guage a situation, highly over estimate.
The average person may as well be a retard when it comes to determining if someone is strong, weak, good or bad
>>
>>207682
Halfthor has to pump himself full of ungodly amounts of roids to maintain that mass. A 6" pro annihilates him.

If you let Halfthor roid with impunity to keep his muscles, you have to let the pro fighter too. And let them bulk up.

Some beauty standards make sense for combat, like broad shoulders or big hands and wrists, but what exactly is the evolutionary reason to want twinks?

>>208298
Thank you for actually answering my question. I've always wondered if Robert Wadllow had bulked up and trained if he would absolutely wreck everyone else alive

>>208342
Dont pro fighters already roid like crazy? There are instances where pro fighters bulk up and challenge weight classes above the ones full of guys their height like Qawi but most don't. I do wonder how good bulkmaxxed Mayweather or Pacqiao or McGregor would be

>Some beauty standards make sense for combat, like broad shoulders or big hands and wrists, but what exactly is the evolutionary reason to want twinks?

lookism is also a biological thing.
Best observation is phrenology which can be observed irl.
Many people think that a good looking person must be a good person when the opposite could he equally as true.
There have been many good looking serial killers and psychos and vice versa

so, with fhat said, the biological need for someone to look like a twink could be similar to a form of parastism. Why work as hard when you can use your looks to get with someone who can provide for you?

Women that genuinely desire someone will do anything for them and the same applies for men.
Men that go after the guy who slept with their girlfriend instead of being pissed at their girlfriend are a good example of "doing anything" they desire them so much they're willing to kill to be the only option for them.

parasitism
sorry phone posting

>but what exactly is the evolutionary reason to want twinks
young healthy people have healthy kids plopped out
also part of parental instincts crossing over

like guys wanting big boobs because evolutionary perspective says that denotes fertility, but also because deep down their inner babby child want the comfort of suckling them
>>
>>207682
>height
Hafthor is over 400 pounds all of the time
Do you think height is the deciding factor when Conor is less than half that weight?
>>
>>207682
Height and reach will never stop being important. Weight stops being important when the height and reach are hindered by reduced mobility.

If someone was 5 meters tall and proportional they would be unstoppable in the UFC. Someone who was 10 meters tall would definitively trounce then though.

Watch some Godzilla, big thing is scary thing.

You realize that dinosaurs existed, right? The size that a human would have to get to before it comes incompetent enough to fall victim to a human half it's height is absurb. Volume ratios are not the issue here.
>>
>>209530
becareful you're gonna piss off the bjj artists. They think strength and weight doesnt matter
>>
>>208416
you have to take prefered style of fighting into the equation. mayweather wouldnt gain any advantage from bulking up, he wants to be quick on his feet above all else. he wants to avoid punches, not take them better (this has dimishing returns anyways) or punch back harder
