Yes, he made it abundantly clear (insultingly so) that he wants otaku to grow up. But he needs to grow up too. He's still mentally trapped as a pretentious teen who thinks his insight is so extraordinary that it needs to be made explicit in the last 2 episodes or the last half hour of his film for his audience of lemmings to understand. "Move beyond childish things-show some bravery" is not a revolutionary statement. Get over yourself, grow up, and trust the audience to be able to understand this.
