Chapter 66It's been a while but it's time for another volume. Previously, Shima and Hatsushiba were having to deal with a partnership with Chufa that seemed to be a little two-faced as they had to deal with some false advertising Chufa was putting out while at the same time, politicians and Japanese business leaders were debating what the launch of the Shenzhou 5 space mission meant more broadly for China's emerging global role.However, the main story development was the return of Noriko which was brought about by the passing of another member of the Hatsushiba old guard when Oizumi died following a bad fall. With Oizumi gone, Noriko decided to move to Beijing to take over the snack bar Oniyama and after arriving, immediately caught the eye of Chufa's CEO Sun Rui. The two entered into a relationship with Sun at first trying to hide his status but eventually revealed it after learning the Noriko's ex-lover was Shima. Trying to compete with Shima, he held a large party to introduce Noriko as the woman he loved but Noriko would leave in huff... a ploy on her part to show Sun who was really in control in their relationship.
This artstyle really reminds me of older Urasawa Naoki at times

It's the music. Each episode of the anime contains an original children's song sung by Dou (and sometimes the other characters join in). “I've occasionally had insert songs in my anime up until now, but I don't think any other productions have done one [in every episode]. So, we took on the challenge of doing it—and it was actually my idea—but when we actually started doing it, I realized how much of a hassle it was.”>The issue is one of timing and pacing. “If the music part is set to, say, 90 seconds, it can't be cut off during editing—there's a TV episode runtime limit, after all. It is a bit difficult to strike that balance.”So we can see how starved they were for broadcast time and even still the final episode included both an insert song and introduced a voiced Mazda and Haurvatat as well a plot hook for the Heaven Arc, something I don't think they would have put resources into if they didn't believe it would amount to anything in the future. They could have easily left this entire segment out of the conclusion as a SoL anime and made things easier on themselves from production standpoint if they didn't have any expectations of a continuation.

>>287172749While this is all true and nobody has ever accused Touma of having all his marbles, the way you phrase the reason why he thinks a perfect world would be a bad thing is terribly uncharitable. Touma knows by expirience that achieving a world where nothing ever goes wrong requieres nothing short of an absolute tyranny where everyone is being controlled 24/7. It's a whole theme that was revisited during GT4 in his conversation with Othinus, where she brought up him and Misaki due to her powers should be aware of why everyone being forced to get along is dangerous.
>>287174261Oh no, he has solid reasoning. He opens up with a viewpoint backed by logic as to why he doesn't like it, but then he clarifies that it just doesn't sound fun. It's been kind of a running thing with him I've noticed. He didn't like Othinus getting executed because she's already surrendering and cares for her, and it'd be more fun for her to join the group. He didn't like Alice's adventure because it puppets everyone and blocks off other possibilities, and the uncertainty was more fun. At his core, if you peel everything else away, I legitimately think his biggest problem with it is that it would be boring.
