(doesn't mean the lawyer takes her as a client, it's just for the questioning). >Brenda happens to be on call for this case, and she volunteers to do this to look good even though usually she only takes divorce cases.>Noa admits to getting insider information through a confession booth where one of her followers who was a son of a large company told her about an impending buyout.>Brenda doesn't want to take the case until she finds out Noa is loaded and willing to pay.>Within hours Noa has converted her cellmates (including a brazilian woman arrested for weed possession) and then the officers holding her, to the point where they're ordering her takeout to bring to her cell.

Takeo offers to take her somewhere good and leads her to an illegal casino ran by yakuza to play chinchiro. >With her superhuman perception, Livia is able to win every bet, and then when the dealer is forced to cheat Livia notices and calls them out. The yakuza don't take kindly to this, kicking her out and sending goons after her.>Livia obviously wipes the floor with them and runs away, creating a new legend in the yakuza about the superhuman foreigner with silver hair.
>>268068365Hime and Yankee>Sara's senpais try to bully her. Ryoko the newly introduced yankee girl follows her to try to save her, only to find Sara was completely fine of course. Sara admires Ryoko's courage and sense of justice and befriends her. Middle Schooler and Detective and Clubs>Yuuna is trying to decide which club to join while eating dinner with Sara and Sousuke. Sousuke encourages her to join the school newspaper saying a lot of the skills for reporters and detectives are interchangable. Yuuna is eventually convinced and joins the school newspaper.
>>268068464Half GrayApparently gangs that aren't yakuza in Japan are called hangure (half gray)>Livia has cut her hair to shoulder length and dyed it black to disguise herself (pic related). At first she did it so she could go back to the pachinko parlors, but with Noa in jail indefinitely the money has ran out. >Livia is forced to move in with Asumi temporarily and goes back to collecting empty cans and getting free meals in the park. On one of these days Livia is in the park getting a handout when a girl with a silver wolf cut in a wheelchair rolls past, being chased by a bunch of goons.>The girl fights off one or two of the pursuers while still in her (highly custom and electric) wheelchair, and Livia jumps in to help. The girl introduces herself as Kenmochi Mikoto, and after seeing Livia fight offers to hire her as a personal bodyguard.
>>268068637Gang Leader and Woman Knight>Mikoto explains that she's the leader of a gang and the ones chasing her were members of a rival gang they were fighting. Reason being the rival gang was scamming elders and that's too low for her apparently.>Mikoto offers Livia to stay in her apartment since she needs around the clock protection, but it turns out mostly they just end up marathoning movies and going to different restaurants together. Eventually Mikoto tells Livia she's dying of terminal cancer and is trying to enjoy the last days of her life.

Brenda has a strategy for defending Noa: it's not insider trading if the information was already publicly available. >Through a lot of investigation, Brenda found that the CEO of one of the merging companies had a son in Yuuna and Sara's middle school. Yuuna's school paper happened to interview him about his father's business, and in the article he mentioned the pending merger.>Brenda argues the insider trading charge is void because the information was widely publicly available. The prosecutors call bullshit saying no one would make trades based on a middle school's newspaper. >They walk right into Brenda's trap as she calls multiple witnesses, parents who saw the school newspaper article and actually made money with trades based on it. >Noa is found innocent. Unbeknownst to the prosecutors, in reality Brenda found some people who happened to make trades at the right time, then investigated them to find blackmail material. Then she blackmailed them into lying about reading the school newspaper on the stand, creating multiple false witnesses.

You see, while in jail Noa found out part of the reason they went after her was to get to her father's larger, bigger cult. She doesn't want to be a part of the cults or the power struggle inside the family anymore.>Sometime after hiring Brenda, Noa changes her mind and wants to plead guilty, but Brenda wants the reputation of defending an impossible case and to look cool in front of Sousuke, so she goes ahead and defends Noa anyway.>Immediately after Noa is found innocent, she walks up to the police and confesses to a DIFFERENT instance of insider trading. >Brenda is beside herself, having risked her entire career by blackmailing witnesses just to be humiliated like this. >Still, Sousuke is impressed with Brenda. Tateyama (Brenda's assistant, the castle butler) convinces Sousuke to comfort her. Brenda asks for a date, and they plan a night out while Sara's away on a school trip.

What idiot thought it would be a good idea to normalize putting the color illustrations at the front and have them be the most important plot moments to spoil the whole book? Who wouldn't go straight to the color illustrations if you put them there?In this series, the color illustrations are all cool scenes, but they're either what-ifs, outright misleading about the direction a certain plot point goes, or scenes that aren't the main emotional payoff of whatever is going on in that volume. You can just go straight to them to look at the pretty pictures without spoiling yourself.
