I have been reading a batch of manga released in the past 5 years and I'm taken back by just how awful the story composition is.Do modern mangaka even care about story at all? It feels like they just come up with some kind of idea or scenario and jump right in without any grasp of build-up, composition or patience. It is also glaringly apparent how disconnected the characters feel from being real people. I know some stupid retards will try to claim anime/manga characters aren't supposed to reflect real life, but that's exactly what's required for interesting, nuanced, memorable characters. It's getting really boring seeing a never-ending supply of shallow stereotypes because the mangaka doesn't have enough life experience to write a character with even a bit of depth.What exactly went wrong?

Every single one of the dozens, if not hundreds I've begun reading are plagued by the same inability to tell a good story. It doesn't even have to be an interesting story or idea; the problem is always execution, and it becomes glaringly apparent within just the first few pages of the manga.
