They say that Spy × Family is about to become the new Detective Conan, and I can see it. It's not like the plot is really that important in S×F, and with a popular child lead, they'll probably sell a lot of merch with Anya's likeness on it. Jump will need a popular anchor for years to come with all of its other manga on the way out, and S×F looks like it's gonna be it.

Before I even know about this weird semi-meme-becoming-shitpost on /a/ about SxF being like Detective Conan, that is actually a thought I had when I watched it.The series feels like it's starting to lose steam to me though. Conan is just background noise at this point, the plot of that is never going to resolve and the time line is all fucked to hell because it was originally grounded in the year 1996 or something. The passage of time in SxF is actually moving, but can be slowed or stalled much more naturally, but if it's stalled indefinitely I see it falling from grace rather hard.
