I thought Gantz: O did pretty well, I'm surprised they never followed up on it.
I'm watching the Tokimeki Tonight anime and it's coming off very different from how the manga felt to me, even in the early chapters. It also feels super cheap and I already know how far it gets compared to the manga. Would love a full adaptation, but it's always a gamble with remakes/new adaptations. I still feel like the original anime's quality could be easily surpassed though.

>>269212024I think the thing is that Gantz author has always toyed with CGI ever since Zero One, in the 90s he had even made a software to scan 3D to use it for manga making but it didn't take off because the technology was not there yet.Which is funny because his 2D art is pretty fucking good too, especially compared to modern popular shit like JJK, KnY or fucking CSM.

I only watched the anime and read a few things about the manga but doesn’t Kei become so good at the game that he racks up enough points to revive Kato which becomes the new main character? I think that’s really cool.
