You don't have this issue with the girl, she wanted to be a hero but she became disillusioned and now wants out of it. That's a strong premise. But what does the protagonist want?That all being said: good job, better than anything I could do. Keep working on it and you will improve.I see you posted your story in the western mangaka thread. You should take their criticism to heart as well. But a wise man once said "I didn't come out of the pussy drawing Mozart", so please keep working on it.
