It's been 10 years since I read communist literature and that shit is so esoteric I can't double-check without effort, but I *think* (take it with a grain of salt) the book The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State by Friedrich Engels discusses this. Basically, from memory, before private property became a thing, men wielded physical strength, but women wielded peer pressure. They were thus equals in status; a man can beat a woman, but then the women could exile the man by turning everyone against him. Communal living was the norm. When private property was invented, women became isolated, bounded to homes, losing the power of peer pressure, and that is when the patriarchy became a thing.
But presumably women still have these peer pressure instincts.

You are being disingenuous, this manga is only 107 chapters because it is bi-weekly and turned monthly for almost a year, if it were weekly like most of those you are talking about that get to over 150 chapters without any confession or kiss, then we would be in the range of of over 200 chapters already
